Maybe consider visiting Boston instead? What about Dallas? I hear it’s also a city. Ooh! Denver, you should just go to Denver.
Gonna jump in here and answer a few questions. Firstly, full disclosure, while I did once write regularly for Jalopnik, I now work at Navdy.
I’ve been using a Navdy for about 3 months now and totally love it. The interface works really well. I don’t use the swipe feature much since the remote is right where my thumb is. It wont work in all cars (looking at you Prius) if the dash is sloped the wrong way. My only wish was that the screen was larger. BTW It’s…
Far Side did it.
So this is an old post of yours, but how did you eventually get it fixed? I seem to be banned from Giz and it’s verticals, though I can’t figure out why so I’m assuming it’s a mistake (though maybe I pissed off the wrong person). Others, like Deadspin and Lifehacker, are fine. But no one can see my posts on Giz or IO9.
No. It’s useless. Google really needs to get their messaging crap together.
Does anyone remember these Nerf toys from the ‘80s?
Andrew, this incident is believed to have been because the model’s construction was not fully tested. The construction of these aircraft when they approach the sheer size put on display here, sacrifice strength in order to keep the aircraft’s weight under the legal weight limits.
220+ lbs is not light and gravity would indeed affect this aircraft.Which is why I said the g-forces are what did this aircraft in, not the lift of this aircraft.
Here’s hoping that the engines and avionics survived.
It’s not the lift that causes the stress. It’s the extreme g-forces that a replica can be subjected to from such a high thrust-to-weight ratio. This, combined with the control surfaces of the aircraft having a high degree of travel. As these models scale up, the lighter and more fragile they become because the model…
It can be used on the front or back of the car. The next version will be multipoint Bluetooth-enabled and can pair with both devices at the same time.
We are currently in talks with insurance companies, but it will likely be some time before we can get them fully on board for standardizing the use of this technology.
It’s legal if not more than half of the state name is covered.
That’s just one plate at this time. We will be adding multi-point Bluetooth in the future to allow for paint with two plates at the same time and offering both for around $225.
We are open to all feedback. The plate frame is about the same size as any other license plate frame. While it’s legal in most states, there are some where this and many other license plate frames are not because it would cover up the tabs.
One thing we have determined through testing is that the app will notify you if your car moves e.g. somebody bumps into it. So, it can be used to detect if people hit your car if you are within a reasonable range of the device, such as a coffee shop.
