I totally understand. You were much kinder than some of the other responses I got.
Yep. If you read the rest of the comments, I got taken to school very thoroughly on this subject (This is an old article that pops up every year or two). What I was taught in school was at best, not the full story.
Several years ago, some friends and I had just left our night class at Chicago State University. We were on 95th at Halsted. For those of you unfamiliar with Chicago, this is the kind of neighborhood where if you get a flat tire, you do NOT stop. You just keep driving and buy a new wheel. I look over to the left, and…
No, it's real. He passed on the rust free truck, and bought a rusty XJ with over 200k miles on it, for almost the same amount of money.
Back in my day, we could only have those stupid conversations in person, with our friends.
Exactly!
I have to admit, I kinda wanted a Caterham after watching that.
“the brand wants to shake off its playful image and go premium. It’s disappointing.”
Its really neat. I like it, and I bet it would be a hoot to ride. This is really more of an electric scooter than an electric motorcycle though. That’s not a deterrent for me, I LOVE scooters. I don't think I can justify $5k to burn no gas, when my $1500 Yamaha Zuma 125 gets 60mpg and has a place for lunch and some…
I’ll be watching. Slinger has come up over and over again on the Dinner with Racers podcast, so I’m particularly excited to see that one.
My first car, an '89 Oldsmobile Trofeo, had only two doors, but it had three cigarette lighters and FIVE ashtrays.
That was indeed very satisfying. Good thing nobody was standing outside of that overhang!
First thought: “Whoa! They were still putting 2-stroke diesels into buses in the 90's!?”
The worst was probably driving through torrential rains going West on Interstate 74 between Indianapolis and Danville, IL after the 2004 Indy 500. I was driving a ‘95 Suburban 2wd that I had borrowed from my cousin, so five buddies and I could attend the race for my friend’s bachelor party.
That’s pretty freaking cool, if it actually works.
This thing must have like an 800' turning radius.
Other than the angry eyes Silverados, I’m with you. That front end just didn’t work on the pickups. I think it looked fine on the Avalanche, but not the pickups. Boy did GM screw the pooch on the current Silverado though! What an atrocious looking pile of dung.
YES! I had a ‘00 Silverado exactly like that one. That was such a great looking vehicle. I stupidly traded it in for an ‘04 GTO that was a total lemon, so when I went back to buy a new truck in ‘06 it had to be a GMC. Then angry eyes Silverados are FUGLY. I’m still DDing my ‘06 Sierra.
This trip was from Raleigh, NC up to DC in 2006. It was a waking nightmare.
