I’m really glad that you like that. I was feeling a little self conscious about how that was going to turn out. There were several failed attempts. It makes me happy that it's prominently displayed :)

Thank you for the kind words and support. I can’t tell you how upset I am at the decision to pull the plug. I was this -> <- close to getting rid of my smart phone, and getting a QWRTY phone in late 2013, when I found Jalopnik. It was here I found a reason to stay on the internet. Ballaban brought me out of the greys…
Gotcha.
I don’t know. I hear very mixed opinions on whether or not undercoating even helps. On my next vehicle, I’ll try fluid film. Too late for this one.
You, my friend, have clearly been damaged by your time in the great white north.
Self-creating speed holes!
According to my parents, nature made me a car enthusiast. I never wasn’t one. Virtually every toy I had as a child was car/truck related. I was (and still am) obsessed with Lego. With which I would build cars, trucks, trailers, garages, and tools. And I still do that at 39 years old. I never had any use for the minifig…
It’s been daily driven through Chicago winters for 14-1/2 years now (I bought it new), it has spent precisely one night in a garage in its entire life. I do give it an underbody wash when it gets above freezing. There’s not much you can do about it though.
Yeah, this one really freaked me out.
Oh I trust you. I am not expecting this to be a fun or easy job.
Lol, tech inspection.
I wish the Illinois one would have happened at Byron. I would have sent that rusty F-150 to Valhalla for sure!
I believe that. My truck is 2wd, but with the locking rear end and snow tires, I’ve only gotten stuck once.
I have been DDing this truck since I bought it new in May of ‘06. It has spent precisely one night in a garage since then. I do give it an underbody wash when it gets above freezing, which is why it does look a lot better than most trucks of this vintage.

Excellent! I would definitely recommend that preventative maintenance.
I know, right!?!
We’ll see. PB blaster and an impact gun are waiting for their turn. I ordered the new hitch this morning.
