I am shocked - shocked - that this would happen in a family that believes that women's bodies do not belong to themselves.

This... does not surprise me. It has been my general observation working in the legal field (anecdata!) that there are very, very few debtors who file bankruptcy to abuse the system. But the tiny minority that do? Scumbags and sociopaths, to a person.
