Little Black Coupe Turned Silver

I lived in Chicago for 5 years, and now am in Milwaukee... I still forget about the Bucks.

Eh. Not all my friends had them. And even if you had one, there was little service outside of the "city".

Eh, it takes a while to be comfy in traffic.

That's why I originally learned to drive stick... My friend's truck was a stick, and it's what we used when we went out to a pasture to hang out in high school. (Why yes I grew up in a flyover state, why do you ask?) In the event he hurt an ankle/leg, we didn't want to be stuck back there, so I learned how to drive.

I've been carded buying vodka pasta sauce before.

$2.45 for E85. Cheapest "race gas" around.

I know there are a couple groups out there who actually provide the lap timers for the weekend. But you have to wait until after the event to see your times.

If you prepay cash and don't use it, you just back into the store and get the change. Which is super annoying.

I... Hrm.

Because racecar!

What do you have now? Odds are it's probably just fine to do a track day in...

Right? Even if the track time results in more stress (like a broken car), it's still one of the best ways to spend a weekend.

Gah, what is it with instructors telling people to lift? I came into a corner hot once, and the dude told me to lift mid-corner. I preferred to not die, so didn't listen to him. And then he chewed me out after the session about how I need to obey his every word. He did not get in my car again.

...Stef? Did Kinja this to me instead of the intended post?

Pfft. I've done a couple track days were it was over 95. One day it was 105.

One of my best friends had an incident while instructing, and it really freaked me out when he told me about it. Most of my friends at track days are instructors, and they all swear I could start but.... I dunno. I'm not ready for it.

Orrrrr do it the right way and get some proper lowering springs... Eesh.

Thanks for getting back out there as an instructor!

I soo know how you feel, unfortunately.

I was at a quite frankly, scary, track day last weekend. I had never ran with this group, and never will again. Complete day 1 beginner drivers were not assigned an instructor, it was on them to track down the organizer and request one at the event. I can only hope they all actually did so.
