So. I currently have a 2015 Colorado as my daily. It’s fine. But I honestly don’t need a truck now. I started doing some early looking into a replacement, but now I’ve hit a snag.
So my basement has a large escape window, with a nice cover on it, since my bedroom is down there. Twice now in 6 days a baby bunny decided to jump down into it, with no way out. The first morning I woke up to find it there chilling. Last night at 4am my cat dove off the bed and jumped up in the window. Yep, bunny.
Back out of storage; now with a new set of tires, fresh brake and clutch fluid, and an oil change. First track day is April 7th!
Gave the Corvette a good wash just now. Really should get it in for an oil change this coming week. Then just add some stabilizer and fill the gas tank. Put the battery tender on when it’s parked for good.
Y’all wanna know how terrifying Corvette groups can be on Facebook? Safety Image Below, Terror Inside
Had to track to myself today. Anddd I boiled the brakes on the third lap.
After what seems like forever, work is finally happening again with some speed. We tore the basement floor out for the sewer work in the middle of February, and just in the past three weeks or so got new cement in to fill it back up. The plumbing for the bathroom has been roughed in and that’s all ready to go now.
Since the tires that came on my car were 10 years old, the first on the mod list was to replace them.
Just in from the UK: Lightweight, optimised and ergonomically designed for four-legged friends, the new Lotus Pet Lids are the ultimate accessory for animal friendly sports car owners.
2004 Z06 with 28k miles, 6-speed. Has a few basic bolt-ons already done. Incredibly well cared for, never seen rain or snow. Has a box with the stock parts in the trunk.
Next project in my saga: replacing the sewer line. The plumbing company and city works department were here at 8:30 to start work. The city used a jackhammer to open the street; the rest has been on the plumbers. Casualties include some flower bulbs I had planted last fall. They also tried to move a flower pot, which…
1940s plumbing that likes to back up? Strangely slanted floor with a raised area for the toilet? A few days with a jackhammer can fix your issues.
So I realized it’s been awhile. Lots of work has been happening. I’m living in the house! If you haven’t seen the other updates, here’s the link. ...Kinja is being dumb again, so everything is just going to be in the image caption. Oh well.
Because now I needzzzz one of my own. It’s a ‘17 SS Fifty edition (not sure if that makes it special...) with 8k miles on it. Drove it an hour from Orlando to Daytona and it was amazing.
But instead I’m just now going to try and get a little sleep in before I have to leave at 2am for the airport. Because I’m off to Daytona and the 24 Hour! (And my 30th birthday...) Any other Oppos going to be there?
We lost power for a couple hours, so dinner was a bit of a flop and we ate by candles what was done at the time.
So since it seems a lot of people are interested in the progress of my house, here’s an update. If you missed the first post, it’s here.
After waiting for approximately forever, my house is getting all new windows. It still has the original ones from 1940.
