That guy in the video needs to be criticized, because he is not a good driver and is going to cause problems at some point. It's great he's out there, but he needs to be safe about it. Driving like that is not safe.
...wha? Where did this come from? I was replying to a guy asking about what is a good car to start out in...
Did you even read the article? Honestly, it says right in it "If you're continually in more car than you can handle with the epic R35, please, use it as a lovely daily (mmmm, BOOST!) and pick up a more analog track car in the meantime to cut your teeth with." So take it to the mall all you want.

Just because you use a rock for aim doesn't mean crash into it...
What do you drive now? Odds are it might be just fine to get started with doing track days, as long as it's not a truck or something...
No, they are meant to be driven well.
It's like they were afraid of actually driving on the line... And the apex was full of lava.
After some ... issues... at a recent track day involving the need for my car to leave on a trailer, my friends are trying to convince me to trade my daily driver for a truck, so I can just trailer the track toy and not worry about it.
Sooo nice when backing up to a trailer. Combined with a rear-view camera, you can literally get exactly to the point where you need to be to hook up to the trailer. Very useful when the trailer is large enough you can't move it on your own.
Psst, he *is* a car buying service.
...Please let me know what track that is, so I can stay the eff away from you.
I've been at an event where there was a similar situation. Sadly the car was the victim, when it was put into the wall on the first session. Luckily it was mostly cosmetic, and the guy packed up and left right away.
It's scary how lax some track days are about instructors, even with brand new drivers. I was a track day over the weekend with a group I haven't ran with before, and they did not require instructors for new drivers, it was on the driver to sign up and say they wanted one in the car.
They were held at Road America from 2009-2013. Haven't been at Mid Ohio since 2005, but will be back in 2016.
Ohgod, she's only *two* years older than me, and looks like that?
It really is. I was up there for Saturday and Sunday this year watching, and then spent Monday and Tuesday driving at a track day. Amazing 4 day vacation, only an hour from home. haha.
Ohjeesh no. Not ok.
One of my favorite weekends is the Hawk Vintage Races at Road America.
