I wholeheartedly support this mindset! I’ve limped home many overheating or otherwise damaged vehicle over the years, even redneck towed with rope if it came down to it!

I will be remembering this link for when I have to rebuild my T90. Another excellent online forum and wealth of knowledge on these jeeps is the early CJ forum.

I have a very similar truck that followed me home this spring. A 79 traveler with a 304, but mine has the 727 auto. Yours is considerably nicer though.

Yeah, I love those wheels. I got them from a guy who pulled them off of a CJ that he put big axles and 37s under. I also got a pair of spare axles and a CJ6 hardtop from him. The Jeep community is a pretty neat place sometimes...

There were no Uhaul locations within 250 miles from where I was that were open on a Sunday

Awesome! My first featured story or misery on Jalopnik! My wife won’t let me buy anything from Illinois anymore (for a good reason) nearly everything I’ve got from there has been fat worse or more expensive than planned...

Most of my bad ideas/experiences involve Illinois. I live in Missouri and the worst was probably going about 3 hours into southern IL for a 62 Willys CJ6 that I was planning on flat towing back. I got there, made a deal and stared prepping it to tow.

While I love the squareback, and have actually been looking for one recently, most have been beaten to hell and back and are not bulletproof reliable anymore.

I don’t think there is a car made today to match all of his criteria. I’d go with a mid range Ford Flex to do most though.

You can get a whole t90 (unassembled) case and all from omix for like $550 last I checked.

Seriously? You’re bashing on bike that was just stolen?

It’s in my wishlist!

Just to put that in perspective. Ford trucks have had computer controlled EFI on some engines since 1987. There are tens of thousands of them still on the road today. That combined with the basically zero insight a tech has into the electronics system. With today’s advance troubleshooting and diagnostic tools they’ll

No image gallery? I’d much rather look at high resolution images with a describing paragraph than a grainy video.

I still have one fully functional. It’s been sitting in the box for a few years now. I’ll have to dig it out and play some Mario kart and 007 this weekend...

I’m honestly surprised with the Daewoo entries. I didn’t think they sold many in the US.

That looks like a CJ2A

What happened to your car? I always enjoyed reading your articles about that tiny little honda.

Sorry man, best of luck to your future endeavors.
