@Mike Meserve: The diesel engine was actually made by Perkins — it was an industrial 2.2L 4 cylinder diesel and it was dangerously slow.

@360glitch: Ecotec, Toyota 3S, Toyota 2zz, Subaru EJ20T racing engines all use stock block for 500+hp applications. Toyota 3S and Ecotec 2.0 are both used in FWD pro drag series to over 2000 hp and maintain stock blocks for a whole season or more.
