@arozzi: The volvo redblock - B-series. It's in the car with the highest mileage in the world - a 1966 P1800 with nearly 3 million miles. It was built with the same block from 1960something until 1994 or 95 (whatever was the last year for the 940) and has legendary reliability - all while sounding like a sewing

Instead of these silly "methods," why don't they promote engaging in an actual conversation?

The lyrics to the original song read like a diary rant of someone who has invested a great deal of time and emotion into someone who dropped him for someone with more money. Despite all other issues that may have been in the relationship, he focuses on a single issue. It's a defense mechanism and a lot of people do

Shakespeare was 1980s Dennis Hopper with bad facial hair?

I'm 32 and have owned the following manual transmission vehicles:

@87CapriceEstate rooting for the New York Liberty: It's all in where you look, it seems. I went to visit a friend today and his neighbor has a *running!* 1953 Chevy 4-door hardtop for sale. It needs lots of work; the interior is shot, the brakes bind a bit, there's a little bit of body cancer in the rear wheel

Michael Bay isn't just trying to kill cinema; he's trying to kill extras too. How long until he just shows up on set, shoots a few PAs, beats a bit actor to death with a broken lawn chair, takes a shit in the mouth of whatever surgically enhanced "new hot thing" is playing the female lead/lust interest and then just

For some reason I'm reminded of the scene in the horrible made-for-HBO movie "breast men"

@Neener: since it's still running, it's obviously a 22re

Here in North Carolina, good, cool cheap cars are hard to find. Craigslist is chock-full of expensive, abused, non-running junk. I'm in Charlotte, and finding a running car under $2500 is a real crapshoot. Finding a cool old car for under $5000 is nigh-on impossible. Anything that's decent is usually snatched up

@Roverguy: are you an electrical engineer?

When I had my 1989 240 DL sedan, my grandfather called it my Vulva.

How did Countach not make it? Is that because nobody really knows how to pronounce it?

For that price, with that mileage, it's surely gone by now. The Volvo Wagon is still the vehicle of choice for the hipsters without trust funds in Charlotte, and less-clean examples with more than double the mileage are going for about that.

You know, there are probably dozens of accidents that happen like this every week and we never hear about them because a good number of the dealers are responsible for the work they do.

@Turkieshooter: the term is Subrogation. If you were not driving and had entrusted the vehicle to a licensed dealer for repair then your insurance company will fix the car under your own collision without deductible and then sue the shit out of the dealer.

@Vanderhuge: As far as Camry, it comes from an age where they tried to name most of their cars after crowns. They had the Crown, Corolla (little crown), Corona (crown) and the Japanese word for Crown is pronounced kenmuri — anglicized to "Camry."

@anastos: This eldo design went from 85-90... and was replaced by a better design with the northstar in 92
