@jedimario: I agree with that statement to a point but a lot of people who make that point also seem to blame the people on the bottom for the raised wages — most don't remember it's the ones at the top who negotiate the contracts — thus the $75 per hour labor cost (when actual wage for most UAW workers was around

After reading the article and finding that many of the crosses were put up by state governments, I'm okay with this. If they were taking down private citizens' crosses erected on public land, I'd still be okay with it.

I can already see the trade-in discussion:

@Admiral_Awesome: The first branded Donk I ever saw was an early 70s caprice convertible that was covered in Atlanta Braves livery. This was about 2001 or so.

I'd like to write up a "Cease and Desist" boilerplate that can be quickly edited to seem legitimate — and post it on these cars.

@jedimario: I have mixed feelings about unions — for one, they kept food on my family's table during the UAW strike at New Stanton in the early 80s, which meant that I wasn't going to be a welfare child because my dad was a Teamster who delivered VWs from PA to much of the northern half of the US.

@mr_bannana: I laughed heartily at your comment — how true.

@BrtStlnd: Well, 60k is a reasonably decent wage but it's nowhere near the salary of the asshats that got the auto industry into the mess it's in — union leaders, bankers, executives and the like whose yearly income is in the 7-and-8 figure range

@KeyserSöze: a heartclick for your comment, sir

If you pay UAW dues, you should be entitled to vacation at the UAW compound/golf course once a year. I mean — your dues pay for it. There's no reason the schmuck making 40k a year should pay for a multimillion dollar playground for the union leaders who already make exorbitant salaries.

@Wunno Sev: Anytime anyone refers to the steaming pile that is the Fast and Furious series in reference to how cars work — The movies were written for 14 year old boys — probably by 14 year old boys. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...!

@hardwareguy: I can sure feel that extra half a horsepower.

"V-4" (oh, you have an old German Ford? or a Saab Sonnett?)

For that price, in Charlotte, you can get a non-running 240z that needs "finishing" and has a ton of extra body parts. I'd rather drop the money on a little Japanese car I can drive.

@jakebonz: I think we have that already, actually:

@devoidmeat: I hope you're not a troll. Honestly, I hope that you're not. Eating should not be painful and if the heat is overpowering the flavors of a dish then it's been prepared wrong. Spices are supposed to complement the dishes to which they're added. If they are overpowering it, then it's too much.

@hewhoroams: Oh yes — Whenever I go out to BW I almost always get the Mango Habanero wings. I don't like ridiculously hot but with the sweetness of the mango it's an intense, slow burn that has flavor, not just heat.

As far as I understand it, the right to free speech means that the only entity that's not allowed to censor you is the government.

High on the list of cars that I'll own one day — as part of the "affordable dream car" corral — 1970 Mercury Cougar convertible — preferably in black on black on black — and it's perfect for a cruise despite the ass-burning black leather in the sun. Here you go, miss. Have a towel.
