I totally agree with this assessment. I find Franks tasteless, and same with Tabasco. Sriracha actually has a flavour to itself. Also, pho is so fucking filling! Are we entering pho-specific tapeworm territory? Because I have never left without being perfectly stuffed, and with a doggie bag. (Or kitty bag, I guess!

Oh, and hot sauces really vary from culture to culture. I wouldn't think of using anything but Sriracha - because of the vinegar base - for Asian food. But I grab Cholula or Tapatio for Mexican food. Frank's is really generic, but makes for a good marinade.

While I'm happy both pho and sriracha are more readily available to me now, I still sneer at food I culturally grew up with being considered "trendy".

Also, most Pho places I've been to generally offer egg rolls or spring rolls. So have a roll or two and if that doesn't fill you up, not sure what will. Even my husband with the bottomless stomach is filled up by a humungous bowl of Pho and a spring roll or two.
