I anticipate nothing short of a reasoned & nuanced discussion on this topic with absolutely no white lady tears at all.

I 100% agree. This rang false to me the first time I saw it. For one thing, the marketing for the site was too tarn good for it to be just a 'casual experiment.' Secondly, they really really seemed to be trying to follow a narrative arc, both of them, and I don't think that would have happened naturally. It feels like

Oh, that's how you know if your yogurt was contaminated? Dammit. I've eaten those because I didn't want to waste them. Gross.

And rob Newt's Lil' Janitorial Staff for a More Industrious Future program of much needed laborers? Well I never...

Their book will be coming soon to an Urban Outfitters near you.

I never really understood it to begin with "We don't really want to date, but we're going to force ourselves into an incredibly awkward 'relationship' and then we can't sleep with other people for forty days and then we're going to end it."

I intentionally didn't read their blog b/c I just knew there was an ulterior motive. It was an attention-getting tactic to, like you said, get a book deal, or tv show, or *something*. I forgot how epic Chad's Cher is.

Right? I also noticed that on the close ups of her face she doesn't appear to be wearing makeup (besides stage makeup, of course). No dumb suspension of disbelief so that our female lead can be shown in eyeliner in space all the time.

Go read about the pushback Cuaron got for demanding a female lead.

I should be a copy writer, I know.

I approve wholeheartedly of your priorities.

I feel like Quirrell would cry during sex.

My little cousin works in fashion in NY, in lingerie (she does color choices for fabric, which is apparently a thing). She works like 80 hours a week and gets paid nothing - she can barely afford her apartment, which is in a remote neighborhood and is smaller than my 1-br in SF and is shared with another girl. She

I have been in the fashion industry for over 20 years at a lot of places (if you're willing to move, you can get good raises). In the businesses I've worked, a buyer makes over 100K as does their merchandise planner (the buyer picks the stuff, the planner tells them how much to buy...stupidly simplified, but I don't
