Yep. It wasn’t just, to repeat the vulgarity, sh*tposting. I was uninvolved but a friend jumped in. He didn’t do it to make money. He expected to lose it all, actually. He did it specifically to hurt the short sellers who profit on betting on the failure of others.  Tons of the little people chipping in to hurt a vile

Reading the comments it’s curious some people seem concerned this is a bit cheesy. Well Cowboy Bebop absolutely IS cheesy. There is nothing wrong with that. The key is whether it is entertaining for most that watch it.

That’s quite a bold statement to tell people why they like something.  I like the prequels for what they are.  I couldn't care less that they have vocal haters.

I have to respectfully disagree, but I appreciate that conversation and opinion. I will not play this game. The moment I heard there is a grotesque mandatory torture mini-game in the main story I knew I would never touch it. But the fact is things will exist that disturb us. Taking down the hateful videos and

It’s an unfortunate mistake, but “based on real life” movies have done things like changed the gender of a best friend to shoehorn in romance before.  She's right to complain, but suing isn't going anywhere.  Also, a fictional commentator can be wrong even in universe.  I think it would be a kind gesture to add in a

To be fair if an article requires external research the article has failed at its job.  “Go watch this video” is absolutely terrible for an article to do.

I have a feeling that 95% statistic is a tad exaggerated. It’s true for a lot of them though. The same goes for some action movies. There has to be some hand waving going on in some instances. It’s the fantasy vs. reality subject. If a game isn’t trying to be super serious I don’t think it’s necessarily the same thing.

That’s my thought on this too. That said, it doesn’t mean it’s not worth trying. The risk is making an experience people don’t want to play.

I think perhaps it works best as part of the experience, where the dissonance becomes more and more gnawing until you switch sides, or whatever, if I’m understanding the subject

Someone can still be a supposed “badass” and have more depth than a rock.

Personally, I don’t think the narrative pushing against pre-conceived notions of Samus being a stoic bounty hunter with the depth of a rock is a bad thing. I don’t think Other M is perfect, but I strongly disagree the copy/paste stereotype people imagined for Samus is better than the character portrayed in the game.

For what? I’m not saying there isn’t reason to be angry, but beware mob mentality. The justice system doesn’t exist to make people feel good to satisfy their anger and desire to see bad things happen to others. It’s for real prosecution for real reasons with real evidence. I’m not defending this guy’s character, but

How does punishing all of the employees make sense? Not to mention this is punishing the victims too? How about the studios that have nothing to do with the scandal, or were acquired and exist thousands of miles away from the headquarters?

It is your choice how to spend your money, but beware collective blame, much

The polarization is a real problem, not to mention the whole “millions of people brainwashed into supporting the attack of a free electoral system while being lied to that it’s been rigged.” That said even if the “politics” have gotten worse (I hesitate to call lying about election rigging mere politics), these issues

While that is absolutely true, their changes were not done in a manner that suggests “oh each of these particular things may have resulted from bad attitudes” their changes are more like a sledgehammer, using the content as a scapegoat.

Proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt is difficult, but a critical requirement for a functional justice system and not a system of mob rule.  It's a shame when people get away with things, but that doesn't make the movements less important.

I’ll add an asterisk that it being only female characters with the most revealing clothing is a problem.  I think, perhaps wrongly, that this article's title was specifically mocking Blizzard over this too.  "Hmm we have a terrible real world harassment problem. I know, if we act like boobs are a problem it will make

No need for lack of civility.  I was criticizing Blizzard, not the article.

They being Blizzard, as an excuse. It’s the classic act as if sexuality is the problem approach rather than acknowledging that it’s not the same thing as thier real world harassment problem.

That’s kind of my point.  This does nothing for the real life problems.

I’m saying they are, while ignoring the real harassment problem as if it's the same thing.
