So they’re going the demonize the body and demonize sexuality route. Sexuality is not objectification, and acting like an ally of the would-be ‘80s and ‘90s theocratic movement isn’t “progressive.” Sexual jokes and innuendo aren’t bad on thier own. Making a tongue in cheek pun about testicles isn’t terrible, nor would

It helps push against the copy/paste “low effort” comments people make too, based only on superficial details.

It took years of nagging from a friend and a free Portal game to get me on Steam. Since then there are two big things that stick out to me:

That isn’t something Steam even does. You can easily disable startup in its options and shutting it down is as simple as right clicking the tray icon to tell it to exit. It might “hog” resources on a 15 year old PC or something.

I was sure this must be about fan projects so I'm delighted to see this is official.  Some companies dumped a few games on GOG years ago then never followed up with other classics, so it's great to see this.

Wow it’s great to see Sega put Epic’s dirty bribe money to good use. Clearly taking a chuck of cash to launch exclusively on a featureless garbage launcher helped fund good QA.  (Sarcasm)

There is no Steam version.

I don't think I'll ever be able to understand scammers.  It's a tragic lack of ethics.  That's not saying much, but it makes my head hurt.  I'd like to think most are victims, forced by unscrupulous employers in terrible living conditions, but I'm not that naive.  I know people can behave like egocentric monsters.

Yeah there’s really not much better that could have done. Those perpetually addicted to outage culture will be pleased by nothing other than seeing any accused, guilt or innocence irrelevant, thrown on the streets and never hired or talked to again.  But for reasonable people, this was the only right response.

I’m not sure what this bizarre statement has to do with anything here. Do you think socialist or communist systems aren’t plagued with problems like this too? The only way to get rid of them entirely is to cede control to AI.

It’s literally impossible to stamp all issues out.  All that can do is try to improve.

Activision-Blizzard responded by attacking the accusations until massive (and rightfully earned) internal and external backlash forced the company to take it seriously.  It's absolutely clear this absolutely isn't the way any company would respond.  It should be, but it's not.

That’s not downplaying it's wanting to know the details.

I’m going to assume you’re being sarcastic. My sincere apologies if not, in which case the “coddled workers” statement is ridiculous.

I’m going to have to show this to my (now adult) nephew. He did and still loves Lanky. When he was young he’d walk on his hands making Lanky sounds, and even wrote an orangutan poem for school. We used to be able to get him to do chores no problem by telling him he has long arms (implying it was easier for him).

I’m not usually one to boycott, but I’ve only been a potential customer all this time. As such, it’s easy for me to say they’ve sealed the deal for me. I’ve gone from “potential customer” to “I’m not only not interested in a fan-hating company’s games, but I will slam them often when the topic of mods comes up."

Was full time confirmed?  Still, it boggles my mind to see there is at least some truth to that.  That’s just nuts.

I’m unreasonably worried about Raven and was glad to see this wasn’t about that studio. Sure I’m sure being from Wisconsin has something to do with it, but I have great memories about Heretic, Hexen, and Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. As far as I know they haven’t been the center of any scandal? They were bought by

I don’t know why but that made me literally laugh out loud.  That’s so mean.

Back in the day you used to be able to get little clocks and such just for pre-ordering.  Sure they were cheap, but man have things changed.
