Yeah, I've got something of the same issue. Bridges really stink.

Oh it's no THAT bad. A Dance with Dragons was 49 hours or something and I listened to that whole series (so far). I, uh, spend a lot of time in the car. But yes, it does take me a rather long time to get through books.

I'm only about halfway through, I think. Audiobooks are very, very slow compared to reading (I think this one clocks in at about 32 hours). I got to the mustache twirling, which I think is a lot less interesting than the other plots going on, but whatever, I'm still enjoying it and it makes my morning traffic feel

This sounds like rock, AND/OR ROLL.

Not much to play this weekend. I've got the old second interview in about an hour, which is exciting. It's estimated to be 60 to 90 mins though, which is strange considering my first interview was 2.5 hours already. What to heck is there left to talk about?

Now I just want to read The Martian even more. I heard about it some time ago, if I'm thinking of the right book, but couldn't find an audiobook through my library system. It sounds like Wool but more hardcore, which is awesome.

I kind of take Stephenson novels as readable textbooks at this point. I like the characters for what they are, but I try to keep the idea in mind that the bulk of the book is the science fiction and math, not the plot.

I just started it this morning, as an audiobook. I'm a little disappointed to hear that halfway through hasn't even kicked in the time jump yet, but I suppose Anathem took at least half to get out of the cloisters. So far I'm rather enjoying it, though.

Yup! Divine Assault: Nibelung Valesti indeed.

One of the (slow) strats for that fight is to just stay behind it and attack the tails to constantly force the jump. You can pretty much do that forever and just chip it down. I think, when I did it, I attacked the head normally until it rips its arms off and then I tried to get in the visceral attack so the head was

He's really, really good at souls games. He also did a hacked run on DS1 where he got Artorias' sword right from the start and the stats to use it, but was only allowed to use the 2h flippy attack.

Yeah, I was kind of intrigued that battles no longer seem to enter an arena and instead just kind of happen on the overworld. But really, the only thing I care about is getting to go beat up Gabriel Celeste again.

I would say I'm most excited for the new Star Ocean game. I feel like basically nobody has played them so I was quite surprised to see they will be localizing the newest entry. It's probably one of my favorite series, despite the really, really ridiculous plot twists in SO3 and terrible names across the series.

I watched a guy do a full run of Bloodborne (no chalices but all bosses) using only fists. Not even a gun! He made the Amygdala fight look really easy and basically never got hit, which gave me the motivation to finish that fight. If some guy can beat this boss on normal with NO WEAPONS, I should be able to do it with

More models need to pose with swords, is what I'm getting.

Hah, I pretty much just liked Jade.
Again, for PS3 you could get Star Ocean: the Last Hope which has a somewhat similar combat style to the Tales games, though you'll have to deal with a protagonist named Edge Maverick, which… ugh.

The DLC looks good, I'll give it that, but my understanding is that it will be $40. I'll probably still get it but still, is that really $40 of content?

If yer looking to get a little weird, I highly recommend the Gin Bucket.
1 plastic handle of the cheapest gin
    2 liters of sprite/7up/whatever
    1 liter tonic or seltzer
    a few lemons, sliced
    a few limes, sliced

If you've never played any of the Tales of —- or Star Ocean games, those are pretty fun. You'd have to check out the combat systems since they're a bit tough to describe but I find them a good palate cleanser after a lot of turn based RPG. Just be prepared for incredibly cliched plots at times.

I didn't actually get that he meant guerrilla. I thought it was a reference to the typical Big McLargehuge shooter protagonist. Your interpretation makes significantly more sense.
