Toyota Tacoma. Wheezy engine, indecisive transmission, awkward seating position.  For some reason people pretend it’s not as outdated as the Frontier.  It coasts along on the Tacoma = Good fanboys, and the ease of making it look ‘overland chic’ sure isn’t hurting.

Nissan Rogue. It’s pure “meh” on four wheels, but it sells like crazy. I’d have gone with the Dodge Journey, the minivan that is desperately trying to convince you that it’s not only not a minivan, but not the worst minivan ever, but I’ve actually met people that adore their Dodge Journey... for some reason. I’ve

Seriously? I expected the explanation to be something lame, but not that fucking lame.

I’m actually surprised about the brand loyalty data point. I’ve seen older tesla owners ( 2014-2018) refresh their vehicles for newer ones, but everyone I know who owns a current version Tesla said this would be the last one they own and they’re looking forward to other companies finally putting out an electric car

Good. For once a rich asshole faces the consequences of their own actions. I am literally ashamed of myself that at one time I had respect for this guy. It makes me truly wonder how his awful behavior was kept out of the public’s eye for so long. Because people don’t become assholes over night. He has probably always

The batteries are not junk, they just lose range. It’s not like your car is bricked after 8-10 years. It’s early in the game, folks.

8 Years is the warranty period for Ford EV batteries. I wouldn’t say that means they’re junk after that but I’m also not going to be an early adopter.

Evidence.

Worst case scenario is you lose half your range. If you’re in a city and can’t charge at home, you’ll have to make an extra stop if you’re going out of town, otherwise 150 miles isn’t so bad for around town.

Now playing

Don’t take a auto blog for their word.
Here’s a fun one.

Lucky China — they still get a Tesla PR team.”

Looks so much better with the proper wheels, but No Dice even if it had them. Too much money for too many miles. The seller is late to the party - the prices on these have stopped climbing and you can get an equally clean one with lower miles for less money. But maybe they aren’t far off if it has the correct service

never buy a BMW V8.

Looks nice probably is nice, I liked my E39 Wagon which was pretty reliable and a lot of fun to drive.

Having talked to some UAW representatives at Tesla about how they were attempting to bust in, I suspect the exact same thing as went on there is going on at Rivian. They send people in to find every minor issue and encourage a very public complaint as a means for the UAW to gain support at the plant. Never do they

that era ford v6 engine is a ticking time bomb.

I had a hybrid Pacifica rental on a recent week long trip to Tucson AZ and it was a blast to drive. very punchy off the line, versatile as hell with a flat floor fold away seats and it didn’t suck to drive around with a decent dynamic and cornering.

Poster doesn’t want an SUV. I agree, get the 4Runner. The Taco fits the ask.

Absolutely hell fucking no. I had a C5 Avant once and it broke my heart. Such a beautiful car, but the shit I went through.

Huh?
