Remember curb feelers?
If your power grid is down, your gas station won’t be able to pump gas either, without a generator. But if you have rooftop solar and a battery bank, you could run your house and charge your car. And if you have a Ford EV pickup, you could run your house for days off your EV, even without solar.
Not to mention that…
If the power is down, you also can’t pump gas at most gas stations, soooo....
Many/most EV models have the $7500 credit still though. Also the average new car is $46k, so having the average EV being right at the average car price is a huge industry win.
I had a Dart with the little 1.4 Multiair engine and I added a plate that gave it a little blow-off sound on gear shifts. I know a lot of people would say it’s dumb, and it is, but it made me smile so I figured why not, I like it. What made it actually dumb though was the poor quality o-ring in it that broke not long…
Back in the day when I was really in to JDM car culture, I would buy JDM parts instead of ones made domestically. They cost like 3 times as much, and was no better than a domestic company’s equivalent products. Some might be even worse, to be honest.
I don’t think localities should do this, because it just ends up being not great. But there’s not a real way for Rivian to “steal” the money short of the Rivian just failing.
Saw one recently. A lot less weird looking in person than they are in the photos. I think it’s because they always seem to take pictures from a low angle so they look like they are 15 feet tall instead of only 7 ish. Honestly a F-150 Raptor looks weirder than the Rivian I saw.
I am starting to see Rivians on the street though. There is one parked at a nearby doctor’s office and another at an engineering firm.
No the two groups of assholes are the dipshit fascists in the convoy and the dumbasses who think morality is to pretend like both sides are the same. Oh wow you ran over a thing once and that means that people actually putting themselves at risk to disrupt these bigots are equally bad? Please for the love of god put…
well they are a group of fascists, so anyone who opposes them is antifa by definition
I like how they call anyone who just doesn’t want them clogging up the roads in their town “Antifa,” as if being opposed to traffic jams is some sort of radical left conspiracy.
Yikes, that is quite a loss of cargo space.
The Outback is a fine, practical suggestion, but the TSX wagon is the way to go.
I’m more of a one-stop-shop guy.
I frequently use the 9 mil Harbor Freight gloves when working on the car to protect my hands in case my life-long dream of modeling rings and watches ever comes to fruition. I can only wear the gloves for so long though, since my hands get super sweaty in them and start to feel gross. I also have a few pair of…
Seems like a pretty good use of a rotary. You can just run it constantly at its most efficient speed.
