I used to live in CT and had to come to NYC for wife’s doc appts.  My first time driving in Manhattan was intimidating but I learned quick to just be aggressive and think ahead.  Oh and to blow the horn.  I love driving there honestly.

As a frequent visitor to Europe for work, I can say you are correct about manuals over there.  I’ve literally seen one automatic in probably 200 taxi/uber rides.
