I'm not sure... they're both eyesores, but the production car is also boring. At least the concept had a somewhat unique-in-a-good-way front clip. Who knows, maybe it would have even doubled the sales figures; there might have been 3 or 4 people buying it just for the looks.

This. There are planty of people out there who buy a car because it's 'cute' or because of a gimmic (I have a friend who bought a Tundra entirely because of the electric vertical-opening rear window), but most (at least, most of the people I know) just want a car that does what they need it to do; for some, that

I hate to break it to ya, but Hyundai didn't rip off the Fiesta. Ford ripped off the Accent. The Accent is the "longest-running small family car sold in North America", according to Wikipedia, and that exact car is marketed as a Dodge elsewhere in the world. Generally, Korea has about the best relationship with us

That's what the hatch on my '98 escort wagon sounds like.

I've always thought that all stormtroopers probably drove '92 Grand Prix Coupes. When I was about 10 I remember seeing one and thinking 'that looks like a stormtrooper!' Yeah, I'm weird.

No way that's just a coincedence, just like Evian water.

Not being someone who can stomach US TopGear, I'm asking honestly; is this an ad, or is this really the way the run the show? Because that looked like a straight-up Ford commercial. All it needed was a couple "Ecoboost"s thrown in so you would for sure remember it.

Not being a Toyota guy, I'm taking a guess here, but that's probably something they engineered for their trucks (even if it's also found on their cars); when you're towing in hilly terrain, being able to slow down with the gears is not just useful, sometimes it can be a lifesaver. When you're goin 60+, turning off OD

I'll bet he does better on his Law Blog.

Why not, we've tried all kinds of people for president. I'd vote for him just for the randomness of it.

Maybe the big question: was it a step up or step down to his modern-day moped/scooter?

I love how he's just sitting there casually with his legs crossed. Probably had cruise control set and didn't see all the wildlife in the road.

I noticed that; it almost makes me think they planned this.

Wow, you can totally see that in the picture. That's nuts. Makes me want to try riding an old bike like that!

At least they didn't put the shifter on the same side as the clutch.

Definitely a Camry.

I live in Wyoming, so traffic is something I read about online, but I use cruise control every time I hit 45 or faster. Since getting a car with cruise control, I've gotten exactly 0 speeding tickets. Prior to that, I've gotten at least a dozen over the years, and every single one was in a speed trap where I was not

My uncle has one of those he got for $200. It has a dump bed. I used it to move with about a decade ago. I wonder if it even still runs these days lol.

Not necessarily. Speed cameras issue tickets to the car, not the driver.

To be fair, I'm pretty fond of mine.
