EQ is Free-to-Play, crappy Free to play model. But doesnt cost anyone anything to download the game and play it with everyone else(even with limited races and classes). Had forgotten about Dark Age and Ultima and WAR. Man, so many older MMOs.

Seems like a slow but long transition into Free-to-Play, eventual announcement coming at a BlizzCon in the future. WoW and I think FFXI are the only 2 MMOs that still have a Pay-to-Play model. Not sure on the revamped FFXIV if it will have a Pay-to-Play model as well.

That only works if the person actually decides to pickup any DLC for the used game. Plenty of people just buy games and enjoy what is on the disc and unlocked already, rather than pay for something they would play an hour or 2 before getting bored and never coming back to.
