I doubt that “players” really hate consolidation. The more companies consolidate, the greater the chance that a game or franchise that players like will come to a service they’re already subscribed to, like GamePass or PS Plus.
Studios need money to thrive. Developers need salaries and benefits. They also need hardware and software licenses. If people aren’t working from home, then there are office expenses too. Don’t forget HR, IT, biz dev, etc.
Embracer’s “overruling principle is to always maximize shareholder value in any given situation.”
That’s all you need to know. They should not be allowed to touch anything that is art related. Including media and video games. They will stifle creativity, suck life out any project, and be a cancer on anything they…
If she just stopped streaming without announcing it beforehand then it would be pretty terrible to everyone that subscribes or renews just before the end. This way is better.
To be fair, MatPat has made a career out of plastering his smug, extra-punchable face in every video. So ignoring him seems like the best kind of way to honor his retirement.
Lets see, not even 30 years old. Financially set for life. Probably tired of doing the same thing for a decade. Can basically move on and bigger and better things without having to worry about hustling
Let’s use a sports analogy: A highly visible member of your favorite sports team is retiring or moving to another team. That would be newsworthy right? Well Pokimane is a rather high profile and popular streamer, that among other things streams games. In the video game sphere, that probably counts as noteworthy.
I don’t use Twitch and have never seen a single second of a Pokimane stream. That said, I am very aware that she’s got a pretty significant following of millions of people, and other gaming outlets are reporting on this as well.
Sooooo, that’s probably why.
You’re not sure why a gaming website would report on the retirement of a high profile gaming streamer?
“Twitch has been my home for a decade,” Pokémon said. “But it’s time to say thank you for all the memories and love during my League, Fortnite, & Among Us days.”
That Seth McFarlane Star Trek Parody has an all male race. Well....sort of.
Denise Kumagai is still going OK at 67
some media i have seen, and take it with a grain of salt as i dont even remember where exactly i saw it, was that moll kind of resented night court and considered himself more of a “real” actor, which apparently caused friction with harry anderson, who as a stand up comic/magician would make rookie acting mistakes and…
I’m surprised Anderson would have that kind of negative relationship with coworkers. He always seemed like a pretty amiable guy. Larroquette was, by his own admission, a huge ass earlier in life.
Babylon 5 has also had a terrible rate of attrition. A lot of the cast have died on or around age 60.
He’s also, along with Harry Anderson and John Larroquette, one of just three cast members who were on the show for its entire run.
There are more cast members from MASH still living, and it’s over a decade older. Night Court is TV’s The Conquerer.
John Astin will bury us all!
Moll had said he’d “run the other way” if asked to join a reboot back in 2013. I think he was not fond of the idea of seeing some other cast members again.
