Violence isn’t the one and only defining feature of fascism. Historically fascist movements have avoided or minimized violence early so they can appear more legitimate to the masses, and then later transitioning to more overtly violent actions after they’ve solidified their power. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fascism
There’s a reason why attempting a crime can still get you charged with that crime. Intent matters. Just because they failed doesn’t mean their beliefs and actions aren’t aligned with fascism. It just means they suck at it.
I’d bet good money that Disney has had this specific action ready to go for decades. Just one of many contingency plans for various possible eventualities.
It’s only a “win” in the same vein as picking the lesser of two evils. The article does go over that in the last few paragraphs.
It’s weird that we have to consider the fact that a war criminal like GWB is less bad than Disney and DeSantis, but here we are.
For sticks and rocks the weapon breaking makes sense. For solid metal weapons it doesn’t make as much sense, or at least they should be more durable than they were in BOTW. I think there would be fewer complaints if they did at least one of these things:
Maybe a nitpick for Zelda II (and possibly a thing I’m remembering wrong), but in the last dungeon the only way to finish it is to intentionally fall down a pit, despite the fact that for the majority of the game pits are instant death like most games of the time.
Obviously a lot hinges on what Link will be able to cobble together, and in the video we see things like sails, turbines, balloons, wheels and much more attached to raw materials like wood and metal. “Depending on your imagination, you can do a lot with them,” Nintendo promises.
I can second your sentiments on RE6, as I’ve literally only played it co-op with a friend, and it was great fun. Though the stories can be all over the place and hard to follow, so the game and series probably would have been better served focusing on only one of the stories and play styles, so that they would have…
For anyone that still wants that experience of organizing their stuff, I assume that’s still an option in the game. However, there’s also a game on Steam (and I think Switch too) called Save Room that is entirely about that RE4 experience of organizing stuff.
providing the King Arthur of Destiny 2's Camelot both a stern moral center and rueful humanity
Maybe he can be a clicker or a random angry person who kills people. Plenty of those in that wonderfully wicked Last of Us universe.
For me I really like having indicators of what is actually interactive, because almost all games have a limit on what is or can be interactive, and the game design doesn’t always have clear delineations. It certainly helps if the indicators fit in the game world. Deus Ex has smart glasses that tell you what is…
Sorry, yeah I was referring to the recent runs. But your experience kind of fits my own from back in the day. Zelda 1 is mostly fine without a guide except for the obtuse clues that were also partly translation problems (and if you don’t mind wandering/exploring a bit). Zelda 2 I was able to almost complete based…
Honestly, you’ll probably get more money for it by selling it to a retro gamer. CRTs are in high demand right now.
I’m curious how often you’ve needed to consult a guide or FAQ for the Zeldas and TMNT. When I played them as a kid I could get pretty far in both Zeldas, but still needed some guidance at times. TMNT was a different story because it was so unclear what was happening and what I needed to do.
I recall something like that. But yeah, pretty much all massive corporations try shit like that if they think they’ll get away with it.
It’s true that in recent years MS has done better. But even then, there are still differences in functionality on Mac platform vs. PC. The fact that Outlook is now free indicates that MS software isn’t exactly popular on Mac; they’re trying to improve their marketshare there. And as Zank mentioned, MS needs Apple…
On the other hand, it’s pretty common for a corporation to pay lip service to minimize the appearance of monopolistic behavior to get a merger through, then turn around afterward and go full-on monopoly, even ignoring promises they had made because technically there’s nothing legal holding them to those promises. Just…
