Oh god, the teenage kid who says ‘Lawks, massa!’ Oh god. It makes me cringe even to write it. What the hell.

Broadchurch is ITV ; )

I thought the woman who plays Laura did a cracking Irish accent in the ‘Coming to America’ story. She sounded like Saoirse Ronan!

Foul!

I believe it’s known as Baked Alaskagate

The early UK episodes of Kitchen Nightmares were great for that - he comes across as very decent and willing to go to great lengths for people who are willing to work with him. The US version is just cartoonish though.

Apparently a number of the bodies may have been children whose parents were under the impression that they had been adopted, or were being looked after (for a fee) while, in reality, their bodies were rotting in an old septic tank. It’s sickening.

I’d hope so too, but I can’t see it ever happening 😞

People are upset particularly because of the nature of the ‘burial’ - the bodies were found in part of an old septic system underground, likely a sewage treatment area. Some boys reported falling into the site in the 1970s and seeing a huge number of bodies. It’s not as though this is simply an unmarked graveyard.

Donated - thanks for link.

God beauty standards are just bonkers. ‘Have less of a face’ - 🙄

It seems to just be girls doing it - it’s probably supposed to be cute and coquettish, or something. Like how Japanese girls (stereotypically) cover their mouths when giggling?

Irish people are friendly and as long as you are too, you’ll be fine. They may make a lot of jokes about Americans, but in Ireland ‘taking the piss’ is a fun and friendly thing to do, so don’t worry!

My knees cannot take it. I almost dislocated my hip kicking a football today. (Why was I kicking a football? Because I’m a damn fool, that’s why.)

Oh my dear ... you have my sympathy! Not long to go now!

I’ve never tried them, sorry!

... mostly.

The Mask I Live In and Missrepresentation are good complementary documentaries on gender equality, focusing on representation of masculinity (the former) and femininity in popular culture.

I’m interested - how do you reconcile that position and your faith (‘Thou shalt not kill’)?
