First, the obvious—It does not represent any radical flouting of the natural order for the bride to have close male friends or brothers (I have both), or for the groom to have female friends or sisters (which my fiancé does). And keeping these people from your bachelor/ette party because they’re the wrong gender is

I was there when the Texas Democrats fled the state to break quorum so the Repubs couldn’t push the gerrymander through (and by there, I mean on the other side of the border, hanging out with the exiles). It was bad even by gerrymandering standards, coming midsession and in violation of the scheduled redistricting

I love watching McGregor fight (and hype fights!), but the idea that Dana White is the only douchebag in this argument is puzzling at best.

I hope Dana keeps him on 200, because it’ll take away his excuses for after Diaz wins again. Putting that loss on “errors in weight and cardio prep,” and trying to spin Nate taking the fight on 11 days’ notice as some kind of a benefit because he didn’t have to promote the fight? Mmmkay.

It’s not truly that simple, especially in south Texas/the Big Bend region. But like I said, the Republicans famously redistricted the state to hell and back, so the maps end up looking that simple.

That is correct. Self-help in landlord/tenant situations is super illegal.

I love her, but think she would be a horrible pick. She has a lot of the same targeted-by-FOX-news vitriol aimed at her that HRC does (“Abortion Barbie” and all that shit), and hasn’t held a high enough office yet for that leap.

Yeah, it’s been trending purpler than people outside the state realize for the last decade. But the gerrymandering there is so insane that it’s hard for Democrats to make headway. #remembertheTexasEleven

I think Texas would be a stretch, but it would be an amazing move for long-term party outreach and Castro is 1) likable, 2) young, and 3) a relative unknown vis a vis national-level baggage.

My money’s on Castro.

I think us anti-PC people are just worried about the slippery slope that is banning speech.

You didn’t say you didn’t watch the show, it was a mistaken impression I got from your comments.

You’re seriously basing your opinion on a clip of a show you don’t watch? Lisa Rinna lost a sister to overdose. She’s the only one who treats Kim’s problem as a serious issue and not an occasional social mishap. She’s neither uninformed nor insensitive, she’s just not an enabler.

I agree, but it was a welcome contrast to everyone else’s “what are you implying?!” pretense last season.

Unless you’ve never seen the show at all, this makes no sense. Rinna was the only person telling Kim to get help for her addiction. Everyone else was pretending some bizarre amalgam of “nothing’s wrong with Kim” and “Kim’s already gotten help” while she was very incredibly obviously on drugs and in need of

Oh I 100% agree with that. If this is a genuine retirement then I wish him well.

LOL. I’m leaning toward he’s not ready to meet Diaz again yet (possibly ever) but knows that coming out of retirement in the fall/winter for some other fight will be a huge draw.

Right, but by the same token — part of the fight contract is doing the promotion. This article is written like Dana’s just being a prick with hurt feelings, but McGregor is contractually obligated to show up to these things, and the promotions increase the gate increase the money McGregor (and everyone down-card) can

Particularly for McGregor, IMO — Dana shot him up the ranks and gave him huge fights long before he had “earned” them. It really isn’t okay for him to turn around and say go fuck yourself when he’s supposed to promote his own fights.

#2 seems very likely. Also Rinna cannot consider a conversation settled until 1) she’s repeated every word to every person on the show, whether it involves them/they were there at the time/they care or not, 2) everyone then tells her that she is both correct in this instance and well-intentioned in approach, and 3)
