Judge Randy Stoker should be bombarded with actual mail to his home address, since, ya know — he hates the Internet and thinks it’s a good excuse for rape. But since I’m not privy his home address, he can be reached here:

I had written a long post, but I don’t really see the point.
Why would either party care about putting forth reasonable candidates when people like you vote for whatever sack of shit they throw in the ring? That attitude brought us the glorious election between the two least popular presidential candidates ever, which brought us to where we are.
I’m thinking about doing this once I finish school and get settled in an area. You think there’d be any want for a 26-year-old child-free person* on the board?
they’re going to be getting my vote regardless of what they do
If you care about your community - how it deals with kids and what it does with your tax money - certainly. Frankly, not having a horse in the race can be a plus in that you’re not backing things just for your particular kid. In fact, the two people I do know on my local board made a point of not running until their…
Exactly. This is the first fucking thing I remind people who complain about the education system: it starts with the elected school board members and YOU elected them!
I contend that the dissent of both of them would not have been tolerated
(Too late to edit, so...)
49-51 is a very different senate than 48-52.
This^
So what’s one way to combat this clusterfuck? Run for freakin’ school board. In a lot of districts, school board seats aren’t exactly high on the list of prestigious political positions, so a “common person” actually still has a decent chance of getting on the ticket and even winning. Don’t have the time or energy for…
Hope springs eternal....
Maybe the bears will get her.
Not to be callous, or suggest he’s not a good guy or viable candidate, but Imma file that under Not Our Problem. I just really think Ellison can do more to widen the base.
“passed Newt Gingrich’s healthcare plan from the 1990s.” You mean the plan that didn’t ever get introduced?
There’s 3 really strong candidates (Ellison and Perez at the front and a bit of a dark horse groundswell for Buttigieg)- and its honestly not a philosophical fight like Hillary-Sanders was as all three are from the more progressive wing of the party.
I’m talking about DNC chair here, and Obama was not DNC chair, but president: it was not his job to rally the party in 50 states and ensure widespread support for the next Dem. candidate to follow a historically popular outgoing president in a solid economy. That was her job, and she couldn’t have screwed it up more…
I agree 100%, and DWS has a slice in my election anger pie chart.
I probably should’ve worded my post better - it’s not so much getting behind whatever shmuck they give us, it’s picking someone that will take into account everyone’s voice, even if they can’t always accommodate all of our wants and needs. I think with…
Gotcha. Just thinking it’s hard to swallow “getting behind” a corporatist who holds the left wing of the party in utter contempt as DWS did, and watching one of the debates between potential leadership last week it seems to me that’s a lesson that has obviously sunk in.
