Yeah, it's an interesting thought, but Apple's new approach is more like having an electric car and gluing the hood shut so that you have to either exchange the entire engine compartment if you just need to exchange some battery cells, or buy a new car right away.

Ummm, you are not so clever either. I have had a PowerBook 100, 145, 190, a 5300, WallStreet, Pismo, two 12"s and now a MacBook 13" unibody (the last with an easily user-exchangeable battery).

They're essentially making their stuff unrepairable, and there is no amount of whatever they reckon they are doing better that can fix this. They are stretching their reality-distortion field beyond the limits.
