Across the bridge.
Across the bridge.
I got the feeling that the concern was more due to the seemingly sudden change of heart the woman had. She went from a long term relationship where she wanted kids, to a new relationship where suddenly kids are a terrible idea. I doubt that this would have even been an issue if it wasn't for the big switch.
According to this woman even one child is too many. Children are terrible and she doesn't understand why anyone would ever want one, therefore no one should ever have one. She also hates weddings. She was invited to mine, she responded no. Not a big deal, except she never even mentioned it to my dad. I was…
It's worse than any off-key rendering of Happy Birthday I've ever heard in a restaurant. I'd be one of those annoyed customers who would desperately want to reduce the tip if service was slow due to dancing, but wouldn't do it because I know it's not the servers' fault.
They just opened a Joe's Crab Shack at a mall near me. Every time we walk by the waitstaff is doing some horrible choreographed thing. Why do they make people do that?
My dad works in a small office with two women. One is currently pregnant and due this summer, the other hates "breeders". And yes, she does use that term to describe people who have kids, because kids are evil. She does not understand why my dad, who has three kids, is offended by it. She's always been like this,…
Some orchestras use blind auditions to prevent hiring just men. Candidates are called in by number, walk on a carpet, and play behind a curtain. Of course, when tenure discussions are done all bets are off, which is unfortunate. I wish there were more brass and percussion players in major orchestras.
Has anyone else been threatened with losing their inheritance for eloping? My husband and I talked about it when we realized just how giant our wedding would be and his mother was not amused. She then started listing all the people that would have to be invited to our elopement if my husband didn't want to be…
Our Jewish wedding was big and there was stuff to do with family for three days. Friday night services and dinner at the synagogue. Saturday morning services and lunch at the synagogue. Saturday dinner for out of town family and friends that my fiance and I skipped. Sunday evening wedding (before a Federal Holiday…
When you're trying for a max of 150 people invited and your fiance's parents' guest list is over 85 people and still growing, you can easily top 200 people. They helped pay so they got to invite their friends.
NYP is wonderful, go to Parks Concerts if you can't shell out for tickets. They're doing a concert this Saturday at Central Park with Mariah Carey. It's free but ticketed. I cannot wait.
My husband and I went to see the Philharmonic on July 4th for a nice matinee. I've never seen so many old people in one place other than the 5pm supper line at my Nana's assisted living place. I want to be one of those old, white-haired ladies that goes to matinees. I'll be a classy old lady.
If I was working retail I'd do the same thing. Or some variation of "I'm doing this while trying to find this other job."
I'm in love with Arnold Palmers. I drink far too much of it, especially in the summer heat.
I'm in the same position. I'm a temporary housewife who desperately hopes to have a teaching job this fall. I tend to just say that I just finished graduate school and leave it at that.
I agree. They could be especially useful in a school where the teacher gives food to the kids like at most preschools I've seen.
So true. I can easily imagine my husband at the playground with our future kids. He'll be watching them play while talking sports, politics, or law instead of parenting. I just don't see him discussing day to day parenting stuff with male friends. Maybe I'll be proven wrong in a few years though. We'll see.
I think you might be me. That sounds strangely similar to a conversation my husband and I would have. Fuzzy things are adorable and I want them all.
I wish my doctor had given me a cream like that beforehand. My attempted insertion was done on one of the last days of my period with the assumption that the cervix should already be softened then. It wasn't. I never did get that IUD.
We just bought a window a/c on Saturday. It's currently sitting in the box on our bedroom floor. I plan to spend as little time as possible in our apartment this summer as I dislike the feeling of sweat dripping down my spine while I do things like use my computer.
