While Physical Graffiti is well represented, one track sorely overlooked from that album is In My Time Of Dying. IMO, it has the best drum work that John Bonham ever played on a Zeppelin studio LP.
I can still remember the first time I saw the music video for Sunday Bloody Sunday, the Live at Red Rocks version. It was playing on a bar TV set in a back when MTV was still a relevant music channel (yeah, I’m old). They put on such an incredible performance at an incredible setting (a rain-soaked amphitheater…
No love for “That Thing You Do!”? I know he wasn’t in a main role, but he still put on a great performance as talent scout Mr. White. Also, unless I’m mistaken, the name of Hanks’ production company (Playtone) comes from this film.
Plus there’s all the crap Anna Gunn has had to deal with for playing Skyler White.
Another movie from that era (which could have been resolved quickly) is the Kevin Costner/Gene Hackman flick “No Way Out”. With today’s tech the key photo enhancement would have been completed in minutes rather than days, and the movie would have had maybe a 20 minute run time.
I used to have Gallagher’s album (I know, a prop comic with an LP?) and he got into it with an audience member over a joke where he was stereotyping Hispanic people.
If this is half as good as how “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story” portrayed the whirlwind romance of Yankovic and Madonna, I’m in.
We signed up for AMC+ after dropping cable a few weeks ago, and they air BCS without commercials.
He was also the Strike Team member whose death was the catalyst for the entire run of The Shield.
Isn’t it against the law to criticize the current version of A.V. Club? Sure, it’s now run by a bunch of soulless cowards that forced out the majority of their good contributors and purged a lot of the older content, but I guess they have feelings, too? Or could it be that they’re just a bunch of thin-skinned little…
Hey, hey, you show some respect when you talk about Mrs. Red Columbo, pal! That woman is a National Treasure!
Gotta admit it seems exciting and new...
Dustin’s going to dress up like that “Hey, Vern!” guy this whole season, isn’t he?
So this season is going to be like that one film “Harry Potter And The Onset Of Puberty”?
Surprisingly, no one has put Bernie in an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm getting yelled at by Susie.
GG Allin, perhaps, but not Fugazi.
All I know about Caillou is what I learned from the, um, disturbing memes on the /t/teleshits subreddit.
A long time ago I thought that Josh Peck (Nickelodeon’s ‘Drake and Josh”) would have been good as Harold Lauder, especially based on the book version of him. And honestly, I never thought Molly Ringwald was the right pick for Frannie.
Yeah, I know what you mean. Back when I made an early attempt at getting sober, one of the things I used to watch was a made-for-TV film called “My Name Is Bill W.”, with Woods starring as Alcoholics Anonymous co-founder Bill Wilson. Now it wasn’t stellar acting, but his portrayal was comforting at a time I really…
