I just finished up a test knit - a black and purple sweater. (edit: test knits require more concentration and less background noise TV sometimes)

I can’t speak for anyone else, but I don’t care if I’m binge watching TV poorly while knitting or working on something else. It’s just TV. Noise in the background while I’m plugging away at making my own clothing.

Most fiber artists I know have projects for various activities. I usually have 3-4 projects going at the same time, all requiring different levels of concentration. If I’m watching something new then I pull out an easy project that I don’t need to look at. If I’m in the mood to watch Star Trek again then I can work on…

When people ask me how long it took me to make something like a sweater I’ll respond with “25 episodes of Star Trek”

I’ll at least call my parents (they don’t text). I’ll smoke a bowl before doing so, listen to my mom give me a guilt trip for not coming for dinner. They live 400 miles south. Holiday traffic makes a 7 hour drive over 13 hours.

My solution is to avoid them.

The boots with fringe are so strange! I mean, each to their own. But it’s definitely not my style.... What do I know about fashion? I’ve had the same pair of oxfords for 9+ years. I just oil them and get them resoled when necessary.
