They won’t. But they have to say they will because the stock market is a futures market. A company will promise to do in the future whatever is popular now. In 2028 when they announce their 2040 plan, nobody will remember what was said in 2021.

Obsessively complaining about minor things is a sacred Jalopnik tradition that dates all the way back to when Mike Spinelli descended from Mt. Sinai and registered this domain.

Two completely different target markets. Both may pop or flop, but they’re not in competition. Few, if any, buyers will cross shop them. The Lightning may be a huge flop considering who buys pickups. Not stereotyping, I know F-150 buyers aren’t all coal-rolling MAGA hats. Whereas the Cybertruck will appeal to many peop

AI and advanced robotics are the slowest moving car crashes in history. The cars are miles away and both drivers will scream “NOOOOOOOO” for years until humanity is enslaved or annihilated.

Tell me you’re finally getting beat after 8 seasons and no cost cap without telling me. This is pure Wolffshit. For a backmarker team, sure, this makes sense. Red Bull finally caught them and they (Toto, Lewis, and Valterri) are making excuses.

Sadly the Hypercar class isn’t going to live up to it’s name. But I think there’s hope that owners of T.50S, Valkyrie AMR, Mercedes ONE GTR (or whatever they’ll call their track special variant) and maybe others will form some kind of BPR-like series and race for a few years.

Do car makers not realize there aren’t enough non-Tesla charging stations to shift their business model to EV? Who’s going to make this investment? For higher end EV Porsches and Audis, buyers are wealthy and probably have home charging stations and a second car (ICE or Tesla) for road trips. But non-Tesla EVs don’t

It’s good for Indy. F1 has a much larger audience. F1 fans might watch an Indy race to see a former F1 driver that otherwise wouldn’t.

I’m going to have a good cry when K Mag and Grosjean are both on the podium together.

They should do this. GTS was disappointing. I own a PS4 and won’t be buying a PS5.

Great write up Bradley! Stunning car. Glad Acura is finding their mojo. I worry it’s too little too late. The last 10 years may have been the swan song of the ICE sports sedan.

EA hired a research agency to do a market analysis on “name recognition of F1 drivers in the largest markets for F1 2021". Then, a summer MBA intern built an Excel model showing driver popularity relative to how expensive licensing the likeness of each driver was. And VOILA! You end up with this list.

Shows like this cost money to produce

What is he saying that’s incorrect? The Left has been losing ground for decades. Think how far right the political spectrum has shifted. The Democrats suck at communicating their ideas and policies. And a lot of that is because their language is hamstrung by the “woke” left, or whatever you wish to call them.

Without screens and shitty in-house technology, car companies can’t justify their prices increasing 10% a year. So screens it is! Despite negligible improvements in technology.

This guy literally went home yesterday! After 4 years. Unbelievable.  https://splash247.com/seafarer-heads-home-ending-four-years-on-abandoned-ship/

F1 finally got the overtaking formula correct. There is enough right now. That’s one of the things that makes the sport special is that every overtake is a big deal. Many are historical and remembered by fans decades after they happened. Unlike NASCAR where it’s constant jockeying.

I’d predict in the future that Tesla is the Apple of EVs, and everyone else is Android. Tesla may lose the market share war, but remain a competitive premium product.

Lol. I’m not putting money on that prediction. But I could see McLaren edging them out if the mid-field keeps improving and putting pressure on Bottas.
