Yep. I have been trying to get a small amount of photo etched metalwork done and I will pay seventy-eighty percent less by having it done in Germany. The Germans also offer clear guidelines and procedures.

Were we ever good at anything?
When you are a gubmint monopoly you don’t have to worry about competition or efficiency. You just have to make sure the big guy gets his 10%.
No established, proven automotive manufacturer was interested in building vehicles for USPS. Tesla. Ford. GM. No one submitted a bid. Building a USPS vehicle was not an attractive business opportunity.
How does #2 qualify as a question?
The USPS demanded a unique looking vehicle for some bizarre reason. I guess the thousands of Caravans and Windstars they use are unique.
The fleet they demand is a high number but not worth a major manufacturer to re-tool an assembly line.
Sadly, a standard EU market minivan with a hybrid system would be a 10/10…
Funny you mentioned the Simpsons, because this truck looks like Homer drew the blueprints. So you’re telling me a truck that is more or less an air brake on wheels doesn’t get good gas mileage?!?
Unfortunately, the real miracle of 2009 was that the FIA didn’t ban the double diffuser immediately, and that’s unlikely to be repeated with the next innovation. I think the only reasons they didn’t (after months of protests and appeals from the other teams) are that they didn’t want to piss off Toyota so much they…
They need more gravel traps and grass in F1, and actually penalize drivers who cut the track. When Indycar and NASCAR went to COTA, they had a field day with the runoffs and went feet off the racing line.
Go and check out a brand new 2023 “Cadillac DaFuq?”
Jalopnik has editors?
No, you’re wrong. This isn’t a low quality clickbait article- it’s a high quality shitpost.
Website infamous for its snark and distain for modern vehicles upset about snark and distain for modern vehicles from its users.
At least they edited the article.
It’s an excellent idea, which solves two long-running problems simultaneously:
For all the shit he takes for supposedly being a diva, focusing on stuff aside from his driving, for being black, for being whatever, there really should be no argument that he has singlehandedly brought the fight to end racism and bring equality to the forefront in markets that view F1, and that he has done a lot to…
You have it exactly backwards. Illot is going to Indycar because he isn’t considered one of F1's best upcoming talents. Three years ago, there was a lot of hype around him, but three years is a long time ago. The depth of talent in European single seat feeder series is so ridiculous at the moment that, unless you…
I use my old 2005 Chrysler Town and Country for this. Swap on all-terrain tires, pull out all the chairs, stick a mattress in the back (the back will swallow 4x8 sheets of ply flat, why was it minivans died, again?), couple folding chairs and duffle bags, and two people are GTG. No setups in the rain, no moving rocks…
I’ve spent a bit more than 1k to find a good middle ground. My truck is old but solid and decent off road, my camp gear is well put together for rapid deployment and i can have the tent/kitchen setup or taken down in under a half hour. Some specific measures that push the price over the standard $1k of camping gear…
Builds like this are dumb, but there are builds that are much more cost effective that suit a lifestyle of fast, easy and comfortable camping. If you spend enough time living out of your vehicle, it pays to have a setup that makes your life easier and better. The other reason builds like this are dumb is that half of…
