Closest we have in Charlotte is Jet’s which, I’ll admit, is damn tasty and much more filling than Newaven or Neopolitan.

Agreed. One of the only hills I’d die on is that NY pizza is not and should not be the standard by which good pizza is held.
It’s like when people like politicians for “telling it like it is.” Almost as though “honesty” helps people get past shitty behavior... but also gives the perpetrators license to continue to be shitty under the guise of “well you know who I am and what I’m about, so if you want to be a part of it, deal with it!”
Agreed - and any Indian simmer sauce or “quick” thing just isn’t as good.
This was a major COVID lesson we learned: eating out just isn’t that great.

All those arguing “leave your door open, expect to get robbed” - sure, fine, true.
Stuff like that is why my current classroom model is “snitches get extra credit and high fives.”
Fun Fact: in some states, if you are registered Independent, you can CHOOSE which primary to vote in. Thus I know a lot of folks who are registered I but who tend to lean more left but will vote in the R primaries in order to try to push through the R candidate most likely to lose to any D candidate.
I teach high school in a school that is majority black/Hispanic. Several of my students saw it. When I asked why, I got answers ranging from “It just popped up in my TL and I didn’t realize what it was” to basically just morbid curiosity.
Three words sure to elicit a “cult film” reaction:
To this point, we try to hit up a TC-adjacent restaurant anytime we travel, too. I wonder how much of their business is that type of fandom.
