Honest question: is it possible to not go so far as to say #notallwhitepeople (because we know what that means and how it gets thrown around), but also not want to be lumped in with the white jackasses on here (especially in the greys)?

As someone who is teaching/has mostly taught in “diverse” (code for mostly minority) schools, I can say with 100% certainty that most of our teachers could not give less of a fuck how a parent comes dressed, as long as they come when needed.

Fun fact: I have done a TON of torrenting of all media and software. TV shows are the only ones I’ve ever been nipped for downloading by their owners.

I’m curious to see if more streaming bundles start popping up... like the Sporify/Hulu thing. I like Hulu (did their Black Friday deal so have it for the year for $1 a month - will probably re-up when that’s done @ $6.99) and I like Spotify enough that I could stand to pay $3 a month for it if bundled with Hulu.

Also, if I’m not mistaken, AVClub counts in aggregate scoring sites like Rotten Tomatoes and metacritic, so it’s possible they are (as other more left media should) giving the movie any kind of attention to add some balance to those scores, so they can’t brag about having 100% on RT, which it would if only the media…

There’s also the fact that adjunct and any other non-tenured folk are not spending as much time doing research or service to the field, so they bring less notoriety to the university.  

First, a lot of it depends on what you are studying and where. A school with a Nobel laureate in Biology means fuck all to someone going for Journalism. Having a couple of high profile profs doesn’t mean the university as a whole is great - just means that department is great.
