Oh yeah, and something we know from the original FF7: While Sephiroth initially thought Aerith was a threat and that’s why he killed her, it turns out that she isn’t a threat because while she summoned Holy, Sephiroth was able to hold it back. Since Sephiroth now knows this, there’s no point in him targeting Aerith

Also my theory, the alt-Cloud that’s still comatose due to not being shocked awake by Zack’s death will fall into the lifestream in the northern crater after stealing the Black Materia from a party shocked at seeing “Cloud” alive. Then the party will later find him in Mideel in part three and then Tifa will help him

To be fair, in the last three hours, or hour in particular, FF7: Remake went completely off the rails plot wise. So it’s not surprising that it’s not as prominent in people’s minds compared to the excellent 98% of game that game before the last hour.

The survey being cited has the following definition, and I quote: “The survey defines live services as any regular update cadence planned for a game.” Under that definition, games like Cult of the Lamb, FFXVI, and Cyberpunk 2077 could be considered live service games due to the fact they have planned updates. Thus,

For a game that takes so much inspiration from Nier Automata, so far it seems they’re targeting their sexy outfit designs at a very specific demographic. Which is disappointing, because while Nier Automata’s outfits were also sexy, there was something for everyone.

At least the different characters in Avengers played differently enough with relatively unique fighting styles that were true to their characters. In Suicide Squad every character uses guns... and more guns?

This really does seem like another Marvel’s Avengers situation where the story is pretty good and if they’d focused on a polished single player experience instead of a live service game they’d have a hit on their hands.

There’s lots of households with only one TV. So being able to play your favorite PS5 game while the kids or your partner watches TV or plays their own game is actually compelling.

Absolutely, and the worst part is: The terrible reception to Avengers then tanked Guardians of the Galaxy which was a legit amazing game.

This game really feels like it’s going to be another Avengers debacle. Hopefully the story is at least decent like Avengers was so that it’ll be worth picking up for a single run through when it goes on sale.

Sorry if I wasn’t clear: He certainly didn’t start GamerGate, but he absolutely stoked it in order to test the techniques he used for the 2016 election.

Something that’s important to note is that the reason groups in 2017 followed the same playbook at GamerGate is because GamerGate was a test run orchestrated by Steve Bannon that went beyond his wildest expectations in terms of how easy it was to manipulate these groups.

The closest to a snub that I can think of this year is Final Fantasy XVI for GotY. It probably should’ve replaced RE4 Remake. However, it’s not like RE4 remake is undeserving of the nomination so I can’t really be mad. This year was packed due to all of the delays from COVID-19.

You’re really downplaying the influence that GamerGate has had. It’s a fairly important event because it was a trial run by Steve Bannon for manipulating social media during the 2016 election. Something he has admitted.

Additionally, Apple by virtue of having everything completely locked down might be in the clear where Google might not be given the “open” nature of Android. I use quotations since Android isn’t exactly open.

The weekend rates are generally much higher, never mind the cost of meals, transportation, entertainment, etc. because nothing in Vegas is free. It all adds up.

Have you stayed in Las Vegas recently? It has changed a lot over the past decade as the casinos realized they didn’t need to make things like food, drinks, and rooms cheaper to attract gamblers. This was only accelerated post-pandemic.

Sortof? In a situation like this there should’ve been software guardrails that would’ve allowed the developers to quickly detect something unusual and then put a stop to it.

I’m glad you think that, but I’ll have to agree to disagree here.

Technically, Valve tried several years ago. The problem is that they’d be going up directly against Microsoft and Sony who’ve had years to get established aand have much deeper pockets than Valve.
