If it had been PC compatible it would have sold like mad.

Even before the last 3 hours there were strong hints basically bashing you over the head with the fact that Aerith knew how things were going to turn out, plus the Whispers that showed up every time Remake tried to go in a different direction from the original game (most notably for me when Cloud tries to finish Reno

Aerith and Zack dying seems ordained since, if I remember correctly, Nomura said these games link up with Advent Children — in which they’re dead.

My personal theory is that Cloud will be the one who dies at the end. This is because we have “two” Cloud’s as established by the end of Remake. Cloud is warned or given a vision about how Aerith will die and sacrifices himself to save her, thus letting her continue on the journey she was never allowed to have all

These companies, by law, must meet the unending demand of exponentially increasing profits margins, no matter what.

“I don’t think I’ve ever played a game that was more terribly written”

AI poses a lot of threats to a lot of jobs in the industry and poses a whole bunch of problems but I cannot stress enough that “what did you use to train the AI” and “AI produce things that are based on art they didn’t have permission to use” are NOT the avenues we need to be chasing and will only lead to a worse

It does seem like the standard modern-era “internet forum screamers want something to scream about” situation. It’s the flavor of the day to make endless Panic Posts about it on the Starfield steam forum, replacing the usual “$70 is insane”, “no land vehicles = no buy”, and “omg SSD required?!?!?” threads. Oh, and

People will continue to be bitches. As a 3080 owner, this doesn’t phase me in the slightest. My backup rig, which I play on often when I can’t use the front room, has a 1080ti. I will also not be phased on that rig. nVidia have done this shit for years, nothing here is different.

I think: Square Enix doesn’t want VII R to get in the way of their XVI marketing until well after its launch... *and* I wouldn’t be surprised if VII R gets pushed back at least a bit. Even if it was, somehow, mostly done - it’s gonna need time for another marketing push!

I don’t see the problem with her in this remake.  She starts out very much afraid and unconfident, as she should be since she’s an untrained young woman going through a severely traumatic experience.  And then through the small actions she takes she’s able to gain back some of that confidence and sees Leon as someone

an artist isn’t the style or product they output, its the creativity they bring to the table. AI generated art literally cannot replace that.

I wonder how much of the lack of sponsors actually has to do with the whole “Blizzard is a hellscape” thing.

They can also huddle there in fear, which is what they’re going to spend a huge proportion of their time and mindshare on, if my time living in South Africa was any indication. Setting incredible wealth just across the expressway from shanty towns that wash away in the rain is brilliant public policy, assuming you

I used to think that. Turns out it’s better to compost with the rich and eat from the garden it supports.  But totally feel the sentiment.

To me difficulty is more about accessibility than anything else.  Lots of gamers have disabilities, and you can’t account for them all so it’s always nice to have a backup plan to make sure everybody can play your game.

As someone who started their career working at one of the big Japanese houses, this is an incredibly rosy-tinted picture that ignores a lot of the history of Japanese game development (and our larger culture). Buckle up, I’m going to take you on a little ride through the seedier parts of Japanese game dev

I think removing a ton of inbetweening or rotoscoping work from 2D animation is also a very interesting application. Either way the principle is the same: remove either human effort or processing cost from the equation to get a similar or better outcome.
