Spot ON with your GoT observation. I said to my wife several times during the last few seasons “this show is a freaking soap opera with the occasional massive set piece thrown in.” People constantly reading dramatic lines at each other, ad nauseam.

You mean any other Spielberg movie, or any other movie in general. Because if it’s the latter, I present to you every Robert Altman movie ever.

Also, whatever happened to “Gen Y”?  In the 90s, the general understanding was that I was a Gen Xer (born in 1973) and the kids born in the late 70s into the early 80s were Gen Y.  Then that concept just randomly disappeared and most of those kids got jammed into Gen X and/or Millenial.

A perfect example of the dialog in the movie that made it so ... non-actory. The famous “ET phone home” scene is capped by Gertie saying very quietly under Elliot’s shouting, “I think he wants to call somebody.”

I don’t think TROS is very good, but to suggest it is far worse than Phantom Menace or AOTC is simply absurd.

This thing has to make it’s way through the majority of us before things start to get better.”

Yeah, this notion that Saul is somehow going to create a thriving practice by giving these folks the ability to call him for free is ... quite a stretch.  He’s been practicing long enough to know that 99% of the folks he’s giving the phones to have zero ability to pay him.

You say “The fourth paragraph is full of mistakes and misunderstandings” but your itemized list identifies precisely one “mistake or misunderstanding” (the cocaine vs meth thing). The rest of your list is a criticism of Donna’s piece because she didn’t write something consistent with your opinion of the episode. Your

I would’ve said this 15 years ago and I’ll say it today: Joe v. the Volcano and Heaven’s Gate are both masterpieces in their own right. Joe is joyous. It’s not a so bad it’s good movie. It’s a fantastic movie. And Heaven’s Gate is stunning in its ambition. Gorgeous to look at. It definitely has something going on. You
