That, or the Hand People.
That, or the Hand People.
Fridays at 8pm. Pretty much guaranteed death.
And this is the point that I make about Netflix (and, somewhat by extension, Hulu) — Netflix has a broad range of movies and television shows, some original to them, that their subscribers have an interest in watching. CBS All Access, at the moment, has CBS shows, some of which are available on other services. If CBS…
That’s because Blessed projects at full throttle — about the only time he didn’t project like he was playing to the back of the house was on Z-Cars, where he’s remarkably subtle much of the time. Not to mention that he’s very fond of doing the Gordon line — and then he does crank the volume a notch. Or two. Or…
Parts of the score showed up in other Corman flicks as well, and James Horner himself recycled chunks of it for THE WRATH OF KHAN.
Just imagine, though, that first episode. “THE AMERICAN QI IS ALIIIIVE!?!”
Brian Blessed to host. It wouldn’t be much like the original, but it would be very funny...and very loud.
No, not Patton Oswald. Too much like Drew Carey.
ALL THE NO THERE IS.
“Zsasz and Gordon are easily 40 feet apartment from each other minimum”
The one costume I want to do is Volstagg the Valiant, Lion Of Asgard!
I see your edit, Charlie Jane, but both ELP and Yes were very British in their makeup, despite the presence of the very Swiss Patrick Moraz at one point.
I didn’t call King Crimson prog!

Oh dear, Charlie Jane, you just earned yourself a three hour lecture from me on the provenance of prog groups....
Oh dear, Ms. Knibbs...your heart wasn’t in it this week, was it?
I don’t think I’ve ever walked out of a movie in the cinema, and I’ve seen some pretty crap films in the cinema — Batman & Robin I MST3K’d with my then best friend.
It’s about the only misfire in the film. Mind you, I’m not a big fan of the attempted rape of Marty’s mother, either.
There’s your problem — it wasn’t Chuck Berry, but his cousin, and he wasn’t swiping licks, he was getting to hear (very tinnily) what said cousin thought was a great new sound. The gag doesn’t quite work, for several reasons, but the unwritten punchline is that Marty swiped the song from Berry, and Berry came up with…
I sat through Popeye in the cinema, and have watched it several times since. The trick is pretty much to see it as an adaptaton of Thimble Theatre, not the later Popeye stories and animations.
