When my kids were little, all we ever had to worry about with this kind of stuff was how to get tickets for the Wiggles when they were in town.

That combo of movies is amazingly fun.

I give Generations a lot of credit for the big swing it took on its themes. It is rare to see a big summer franchise movie tackle issues like aging and mortality as main themes. Sadly, the story was a bit of a mess-the concept of magic space ribbon that makes all your dreams come true is even worse than anything that

That sounds awesome.

I really want to do this. My wife has had the opening for Barbie circled on the calendar for a while now, so we are def. going to that (and I am sure it will be good). But I really want to see Oppenheimer when it opens too.

Now see, this news isn’t a nice thing to read. This wasn’t designed to make me feel good. In fact, I hate it.

I like this! I have been struggling to figure out what makes those two scenes so different for me, and the way you frame it makes a lot of sense.

I think it is absolutely fair to point out that a website that is calling this one of the best games of 2023 published a lukewarm review of the same game not long ago. It is obvious that authors are going to have different opinions, but it is all under the Kotaku banner.

I have never understood the intense dislike of the Crystal Skull fridge, truly. Indiana Jones is and always has been a silly Saturday morning adventure serial. We are ok with successfully fleeing a rolling boulder, face melting, hearts being pulled out of chests, rafts falling from the sky, defeating a tank on

I have always loved Ratatouille, but I love it even more after this past weekend. There was a mouse in our garage that my wife discovered, and she was pretty upset. My youngest son, who inherited her wonderfully mischievous sense of humor, cracked up and immediately went inside. When we came back in, he had the scene

I think all of the Pixar movies are “top tear” because most of them make me cry at some point. :)

I hear you. I am just surprised that people were surprised by that in Snyder’s movie, mainly because you really don’t have to be that familiar with Superman to know that is coming. You can be a geezer like me who remembers seeing it in the original Superman in the theater. Or, as you point out in your original post,

Well put.

I could not agree more with the William Hughes take on Man of Steel. The character of Pa Kent was what pushed me away from this movie, and I never got back. His Father emphasizing to his son that he should not to help others and then Superman standing there while he dies was the last straw for me. Whatever that movie

This is why I find it so interesting that Jen Lennon said the Christ pose is where she checked out of the Snyder movie. Nothing against that opinion, but much of the imagery around Superman on screen and in comics has leaned on that pretty hard before and after Man of Steel. Snyder did a lot of things wrong with his

I have been married to a wonderful woman for 25 years. Her first career was as a church pastor and then a hospice chaplain. She did those two really difficult, demanding jobs for the first ten years of our marriage before switching gears to work for a non-profit with me. In that time, I saw her do more to help people

This was my thought reading this well written piece too. I agree that we need more female protagonists in Star Wars games and in general. Having protagonists in fiction and games with different backgrounds and points of view is not just good for a healthy society, but it makes for much more interesting gaming.

I strongly disagree with the vast majority of this, but different opinions are what make the world go round. I hope you are enjoying the Spider-Verse movies more.

For me, Doc Ock is absolutely the main thing that puts 2 ahead of verse in my mind. Alfred Molina played the role perfectly.

This makes complete sense, and is very well stated!
