Spoilers for Justified TV show ahead for anyone who hasn’t watched it yet:
If a person met a woman for drinks, and that person really liked her and had a fun time, and then that woman met the love of her life and got married soon after......wouldn’t the human response be “I’m really happy for this cool woman I hung out with that one time”?
This is exactly how I feel too. Thank you.
Much like Ms. Ihnat, my family has been watching It’s a Wonderful Life every year since I was ten, and I cry every single year. My tears always start as soon as everybody starts singing during the last few minutes. There is something about watching the community coming together to support the man and family that has…
In the always excellent Popcorn Champs, we are getting two weeks in a row featuring very disappointing sequels that followed fantastic films. Spider Man 2 is one of the best super hero movies ever made. Spieder Man3........is not. And the original POC was so much fun, but I think the sequels are a huge drag.
I think the advice given here is really good. I have a fairly mild form of Cerebral Palsy that does not really impact my day to day life all that much, but it is noticeable. When I met my wonderful wife, we were talking about a future together after the second date-it was one of those instant connection kind of things.
Streaming is great and provides so much awesome choice, but it really can be overwhelming. I also haven’t gotten around to the Wire and a great many other things.
I have been rewatching a lot of Deep Space Nine lately, so I really like your comparison here. Star Trek is a fantastic idea, buy DS9 showed the greatness you can get when you put the concept into the hands of great storytellers. TNG is the Trek I grew up with and I love it, but DS9 has better executed stories-it gets…
I was pumped too! That might be my favorite episode of the second season.
Sure! I hope you are enjoying The Mandolorian as much as I have. I think that series is an absolute blast.
Slight spoilers for the Mandolorian:
Because we can’t really go anywhere right now, my family recently completed a watch of the entire Star Wars Saga (it was all the Marvel movies before that!). My wife and I saw the prequels in the theater and a few times since, and we agree that time has done nothing to cure our first impression of them as highly…
I have been a practicing lawyer for 17 years now, and I appear in court regularly. The last year has been full of court zoom conferences, and I don’t use filters or anything on my work computer for just this reason. Why take a risk?
“ I just watched that one with my kids. It fucking sucks.”
I played this role in our high school production of Little Shop of Horrors a million years ago. I was no Dooley or Belushi when I did so, but I always perk up when I get to that part of the movie.
Even with all of the great stuff he has done, Mr. Dooley’s greatest father role is as Enabran Tain on DS9. The scenes between him and Andrew Robinson are always fantastic.
Fully agree, and glad you got to have that experience too!
I was waiting for someone to post this! “What is your degree in, POETRY?!” is one of my favorite lines in anything ever.
Because of the internet and our increasingly interconnected world, the Matrix was the last movie that I saw in the theater completely cold with no idea what it was about. 1999 was a busy year for me-I graduated college, started law school, and got married over a few months, so I wasn’t paying much attention to movie…
