Very interesting. I was not aware of that.

Ditto on Adventure Time. I started watching it with my kids, and have remained hooked long after they lost interest. It is a GREAT show. Regular Show too.

I was just writing about this in another thread-I graduated from college, started law school and got married in 1999, so I was almost completely absent from pop culture for the entire year. As a result, I also saw the Matrix with absolutely no idea what it was going to be. My wife and I had been married just a few

Hero movies are my favorite, and I do not remember this one even coming out. But then I realize it came out in 1999, and it is no surprise. If I ever totally miss a piece of pop culture, you can bet it was either from 1999 (the year I got married and started law school) or 2004 (the year my first child was born). I am

I appreciate it, and I cannot wait until that happens

Thanks! I wish I had had your discipline to begin with..........

Thank you-I also thought of this when I saw Dirtside’s post, but I could not remember what movie it was from or who said it. It was driving me nuts!

Thank you for the encouragement and great advice! I will surely crash if I don’t allow a treat now and then...........

You know, I have been consulting with my doctor in this effort and I specifically asked about pizza, which I love. He said that if I go with thin crust (and whole wheat if they have it) that makes a pretty big difference. I was skeptical because I have avoided thin crust in the past, but it is actually not that bad!

Thank you for the encouragement, and well done! I hope to get where you are soon. That is my goal.

Thanks Yummsh-that is what I have been doing, so it is good to know I am on the right track. I am staying out of fast food joints altogether though, because it is too tempting. My oldest son brought home McDonalds two nights ago and I took one fry-and then it was all I could do to not swipe the whole bag!

Yo, I really appreciate the encouragement from you (and dirtside, Pink Skull, Jake, Vadasz and Yummsh too). It has not been easy-with soda especially. I have been well and truly addicted to that stuff since childhood, and it has been hard to give up that treat. I will keep at it though-it is the only way to keep up

I have been trying to kick fast food and soda in order to get healthier. I have made it a month without slipping. I am glad I am doing it, but I miss both things so much. I know it is good for me in the long run, but it has been tougher than I thought.

Thanks!

Those sound great-thanks! I too am a 35 plus gamer with a job and a family. Finding time for my hobby is always a Challenge, so this sounds right up my alley!

Thanks-I will check those out. I agree with you about the Polygon show.

Shoot, you are absolutely right-I should have been more clear. I meant video games, but all the games you mentioned sound like fun podcast subjects!

Thanks, I will check out some more episodes of that. I think I heard them talking about Days Gone, and it made me interested in that game for the first time.

Anyone have recommendations for good podcasts for gaming? I have go to podcasts for all my other interest areas: politics, books, movies etc. But I haven’t found one on games that holds my interest for long. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any responses!

This is where our tax dollars are going-so that Rubio and others in his party can mess around, throwing out the occasional wedge issue to fire up the base and get as many votes as possible. Meanwhile, parents in his district were terrified to send their kids to school this year while Congress shrugs.
