Like every other institution run by humans, sports can be abused and over emphasized at the expense of other things. I think we can all agree that the ideal schools and communities have balance in terms of the opportunities available to people. The bad choices made by certain communities and schools does not mean that

For the reasons eloquently stated by Enrico Palazzo below, I respectfully disagree with your reasoning. When human beings gather in a group, there is always potential for negative outcomes. If we start blaming the institutions that bring people out of their houses for the occasional negative outcome, there will be

I just wanted to post about the significant positive influence that sports has been on my life. For example, I have been a Cavs fan since 1987. I will never forget yelling and jumping around and hugging with my wife and kids when the final buzzer sounded on June 19. One of my best memories ever as my whole family

This was meant to be a reply to Bob's post below, but my mobile device is acting ridiculous. I apologize.

Book six was the only one I truly disliked. Each of the other books have good qualities that make them worth reading, though books 1-4 are clearly superior to books 5-7. Oh, and the 8th book IS swell!

The Dark Tower Series is one of my favorite-the first book series that I was REALLY into as an adolescent. The ending didn't work for me-I get that some liked it and it didn't take away from the journey, but any ending the author spends five pages warning you away from is trouble.

Were they saying "boo" or "boo-urns"?

Mr. Kinberg: "Funner" is a dumb "word", and Fantastic Four 2 is a dumb idea. Please stop trashing this classic comic property and let it rest in peace. Please.

Just watched this. It was a very entertaining hour of television aside from the fact that Lash wandered around and let himself be killed. I agree with the review-awesome idea, poor execution.

The dream sequence level in Max Payne is the worst level ever in a great game. Falling off narrow blood trails repeatedly accompanied by the sound of an infant wailing is as far from fun as one can get.

Maybe Ollie could "disarm him" in the season finale. Instant A plus grade right?

I may be giving the Arrow writing team too much benefit of the doubt (love the show, but the plotting isn't always stellar….). But I thought putting the nuclear blast in at the last minute was done for plot reasons. Earlier in the episode, Team Arrow mused that even one bomb exploding would make Dahrk unstoppable.

It is true that Diggle made a rash decision this week, but at least it was in character and true to the universe established by the show. He has been in anguish about his brother since season 1, and that has only been compounded by recent events. You can see why the character would react that way, even if you don't

About the review headline: saying that these characters stopped thinking clearly implies that they started thinking clearly at some point. There is no evidence to support that, since Savage is still walking around.

I think this review really hit the nail on the head. There was no tension at all in this episode, given that stepping into the particle accelerator was the only real choice (other than letting Zoom-the evil team Flash unleashed on Earth 1) kill or enslave everyone.

I badly want to disagree with this review, because I was really looking forward to season 2. But I can't-this show really did fly off the rails this season.

The West Wing was one of my favorite shows when it aired. I just finished a full re-watch on Netflix and it was really great to step back into that world. Anyone who enjoyed the series the first time through: it is worth revisiting.

"Are you telling me that not only did you invent a secret plan to fight inflation, but now you don't support it?"

Almost! They were super close this time, really!

I recall them being dropped off to stay with Rip's mom while they go after Savage at the end of last episode. But I could be wrong. I try not to pay too much attention to this show, which is the only way the seams in the plot don't drive me nuts. When White Canary is kicking butt or Snart is chewing scenery I pay full
