Hell, even with the new STi, one of my buddies always gives me shit by calling it a Mazda3. It's all in fun though.

Geeze. Don't take it so personally. Yes, I've owned 3 WRXs now, the latest being a '14 STi. I bought it while I can still get a hatchback. I fully realize the resale potential of these cars.

I just bought a 2014 STi hatch last week. This is justifying my purchase even more. It's too bad, I can't help but think the new Impreza hatch would look good with the STi treatment and big box fenders.

I would never put red mudflaps on my WRX.

Those wheels look way too close to the Impreza wheels. It could be the renderings, but they look pretty narrow too. I hope this car swallows up 9-10 inch wide rubber like the GR's do. Or maybe I should say that I hope the STi does. I also hope the STi rear fenders get more aggressive than this.

I was really hoping the next STi would be offered in a hatchback. Maybe for 2016 they'll get their heads out of their asses.

That's part of why I'm not a fan of the sedans. If you compare the GR chassis sedan and hatchback, the hatch rear fenders look a lot more agressive and match better with the front. The sedans always look too slab-sided to me.

I own both, current generation WRX Hatchback and Sedan. While the trunk space in the sedan is greater, my dog doesn't ride in the trunk and doesn't fit in a backseat. She fits fine in the hatchback with the rear seat folded.
