This would work for freshwater I would guess, but marine engines have different cooling system components like water pumps and thermostats, etc.

Ford started Mercury motors in the late 1930's and Mercury Marine was founded in 1939 as Keikhafer Mercury . As far as I know there was never any dispute over the name, even when they dropped Keikhafer and it became Mercury Marine in the early 1960's.

I had this problem on one of my old cars, I can’t remember which one, but it would have late 80's or early 90's vintage Honda, Renault or VW. The case for the ecm didnt seal and would allow enough humidity in to short connections inside.

It will tell you if you have low pressure in your fuel system if you hook it up to the fue rail. Ita been a few years, but if I remember correctly, you can also test each injector with it.
