Out of curiosity (though not enough to look it up myself) what is the age difference between Ivanka and Melania? My mother once dated a guy who was only about 8-10 years older than me. That was a really weird situation.

I'm slightly jealous of Brits and Aussies who get to be much more creative with their swearing. Dropping the C-word around most people I know will immediately halt the conversation and reward you with a genuine "Whoa, take it down a notch, buddy" reaction. Even from my saltiest of acquaintances.

You can and it's fun. But some people take the word itself, in any context, as being derogatory towards women. Even if it's not directed at a woman. It's sort on the same line as Colberts "cock holster" joke, I suppose.

I have no problems with it. I do wish there were equally creative and severe insults for men, though. The worst, gender specific single word insult you can launch in a mans direction is… What? Dick? That's pretty mild. Somebody come up with a male equivalent for the C-word.

I can't decide which is worse, this or the lemonade stand thing from a few weeks ago. This obviously is the greater faux pas because slavery. But the other story included them actually grifting money from maids and caretakers. Both instances include a "poor, rich me" level of self-pity that is absolutely infuriating.

A lot of people write it off as a Tarantino knock-off. I can see the similarities but WOTG uses its action set pieces to build tension instead of just an exercise in gratuitous violence. It's also a lot lighter on the pastiche.

I think I remember watching a behind the scenes feature where they talked at length about how much effort went into Batman's fighting style in Begins. How they wanted it to look really direct and brutal and efficient. Having already seen the movie, all I could think at the time was "Why did you bother if that was how

Right or wrong, I always equated it to the gunslinger mythologies of the American West. Nobody can shoot a hat off or a gun out of somebodies hand from 50 yards with a single action revolver. The ending of Unforgiven is at least as ridiculous as anything that happens in Crouching Tiger. Unforgiven is arguably the more

I think that movie maybe fits into a lot of peoples lives similarly. My experience with the film differs a little from yours but watching it is still something of a harrowing experience. I saw the film for the first time on the recommendation of my then-girlfriend. She was away at college so I watched it by myself. As

That's interesting. I've never tried that.

You also get a Nick Nolte monologue at the end that is just all kinds of batshit-crazy fun.

The difference between the dub and the subtitles on Crouching Tiger is significant. I'd have to re-watch it again but I think that, weirdly, the dub gives more detail in certain instances than the subtitles do. The dub is a bit clunky but, coming from a background of watching a fair amount of anime, it wasn't terrible.

Most people's issue with evolution (besides it being insulting to their over-inflated sense of purpose and universal significance) is that they don't understand the scope of the process. Trying to get someone to wrap their brains around the concept of millions of years and/or hundreds of thousands of generations is

I came to that conclusion while lying in bed one night trying to fall asleep.

I always liked how he mentioned the singeing of the callouses on his fingers. I'm with O2 thief, Tull is one of the coolest parts of the series and it looks like they're screwing it up. Pretty bummed about that….

It's on Netflix and I'll queue up the "Manifest Destiny" monologue for kicks sometimes. That is some Grade A scenery chewing right there.

Yes, old westerns typically suck. But that doesn't mean the genre in general is bad. Two of my favorite movies are westerns. "Unforgiven" and "The Proposition". I might even call "Ravenous" a western if I needed to narrow it down from "weird-ass cannibal/vampire movie"*.

Cool! Can I bum a few hundred off you for concert tickets?

CineFix is a kinda hit or miss, but they have a wonderful video breaking down the border crossing scene in Sicario.

"overly built to the point of grossness"
