Maybe neither?
This past December, on my 28th birthday, I was leaving from getting my haircut and was exiting through this big back parking lot that was totally empty. It had rained all day so the lot was damp and also covered in pine straw. I recognize this as one of the very rare opportunities to rip a doughnut in my 2.3L, 4cyl…
The intent is not to defend the insurance payment, but rather to echo the original poster’s comment that a large number of people who wind up in an accident today go for the money grab.

I never said that. I’m very aware that you can be injured more easily on a motorcycle than in a car.
“You honor, if that runoff had only been another 20 feet deep, I wouldn’t have hit that barrier at all...”
And that’s a problem with the country right now. Everyone wants some totally ludicrous sum when they are involved in some sort of accident.
