It likely is specific as what causes that discoloration are the oils which leak from other components of the tire. So those two tires almost definitely use different rubber compounds for their individual components.

In thinking about 20 years of progress: every one of those has more hp than my ‘99 GT did when it rolled off the assembly line. And the Extended Range AWD makes more power than the top-trim Cobra did that same year. Wild.
