As someone who IS into both musical theater AND Hamilton I think it is a combination of factors. One, it is musically a super high energy show, no super slow sad numbers. The rap is accessible even to people who aren’t into rap. There are also none of the Disney Princess soprano songs or super jazz handy songs…
