I always find it funny when someone who is probably totally OK paying by check (where you give strangers your name, address, routing number, account number, and a copy of your signature) tells me that I’m the one playing fast and easy with getting my identity stolen.

And? I pay for a lot of benefits. I pay for a museum membership which has a benefit of reciprocal membership and extended hours. I pay for a nicer seat on an airplane which comes with benefits of an extra checked bag and priority boarding. It can both be paid for and a benefit.

For good or bad, it becomes a lot easier to consider it “worth it” when I’m subsidizing my family’s use of these services lol. My parents and at least one sibling are part of my “household” and get at least the free shipping plus some other benefits I think.

This may be something that is common place and I just didn’t know before, but most of the libraries near me let you check out passes to local attractions. Like, you literally can check out 3 free passes to the zoo, a museum, aquarium, etc.
