But that's the thing — if you already have a halfway decent Android smartphone you don't need a Ouya. You already have a superior gaming platform in your hands. All you need is a bluetooth controller and an MHL cable, both of which can be had for less than half the cost.
If you really want a bargain XBMC and games emulator get a Raspberry Pi. Less money and does more.
Well for significantly less money than a Ouya one can buy a bluetooth controller and and MHL cable to attach their Android smartphone to any TV with an HDMI input. And because your phone is likely 2-3x more powerful than this box you'll get a superior gaming experience.
Yeah, there is no way this thing cost 8.5M to make. I'd love to know where all the extra money went. Or a better question, into whose pocket did it go?

The problem with keeping these theatres alive is that you almost invariably have to turn them into multiplexes, which, while making it financially viable also destroys the theatre.
